After the small chat down at the café, Joshua bid his goodbyes to Mingyu and left onwards to his apartment complex he shared with his younger brother, Hansol, a third year high school student, and younger sister, Sofia, who's in third year of middle school.
They lived together, just the three of them, their father worked overseas while their mother had passed away shortly after Sofia was born. Joshua had taken up the role as the parent figure to his two younger siblings as his father wasn't around that much, which left Joshua and his siblings in the care of Seungcheol's parents, until Joshua was able to watch over them.
Joshua hummed to himself as he walked to his apartment door. He reached into his book bag, fingers fumbling around until he felt the ridged edges of his keys press into his fingers, he pulled them out and then opened the door.
Music filled his ears when he entered, Red Velvet, he hummed, Sofia's favorite idols. He glanced around to see Sofia, who was sat at the kitchen isle with some homework out, while Hansol had his back to her, preparing an afternoon snack. The door closing had caused the two teens to look up.
"Hey Shua." Hansol said, greeting his brother with a nod and smile. Hansol was never one for honourifics, it didn't make sense to him to use honourifics with his siblings since they never used them unless they were surrounded by friends or family members.
Sofia was the opposite, the fifteen year old girl had a wide smile, eyes turning into crescents as she looked at Joshua. "Oppa, you're home, you're normally here before us.." she said, her voice growing quiet before she looked up at him, a playful grin on her lips.
"Oppa, did you perhaps have a quick date with someone?" She teased as she wiggles her eyebrows, giggling afterwards, "Ha, doubt he went on a quick date with someone, he probably stopped by to buy something." Hansol said as he turned around with two plates of bindaetteok.
Sofia scoffed, looking up at Hansol with a smirk, "Buy something? Like how you buy something for Seungkwan Oppa every Wednesday?" Hansol became flustered, lost at words to say.
Joshua laughed, moving to stand beside Hansol, ruffling his hair up a bit. "Ah~I'm not surprised." "Y-Yah! How do you know about that?" Sofia shrugged, grabbing a pair of chopsticks and picking up a piece of the mung bean pancake.
"I have my resources, the same ones that told me that you, Oppa, were out at the coffee shop with advanced third year student, Kim Mingyu." Joshua's eyes widen, "How did you know that..." Sofia laughed softly, spinning in her chair as she took another bite.
"Oh I know everything." She smiled as she went back to doing her homework. Hansol and Joshua looked at each other, and then back to Sofia. Hansol shrugged and took a pair of chopsticks and ate some of the mung bean pancakes, he pulled his phone out to mess with some apps.
Joshua smiled at the two and left to his room. As he walked into his room, he placed his book bag on the grey ottoman chair beside his desk, then pulling out his laptop to work on his essay papers, he made sure to set an alarm for himself so he wouldn't forget to cook dinner.
Nearly two hours had passed since Joshua had started his paper, he had moved from his desk to the coffee table of the living room. Sofia was having a marathon on a recent drama she started to watch, Hansol was next to her, on his phone, most likely messaging his friends.
The comfortable silence, minus the commentary of the drama, was broken by a knock on the door. Joshua looked back at the door, standing up as he made his way to it.
He opened the door and in walked Seungcheol. "Hyung, what that in your hand?" He asked, his eyes focusing on the plastic bag that the older carried. "Celebration food." "Oh? Doyoon said yes?" Seungcheol shook his head as he stepped in.
"Doyoon is with that Jihyun guy from law." "Then who did you—no." Seungcheol laughed loudly and nodded his head at Joshua's wide eyed-shocked expression. "Jeonghan?" Seungcheol nodded, " Yoon Jeonghan? The same Yoon Jeonghan you've been crushing on since we were five? That Jeonghan?"
"Who else?" Joshua shrugged and closed the door behind Seungcheol, taking the plastic bag and setting it on the counter. "Guys, Cheol brought food!" The two came running over, Hansol had a wide smile, patting Seungcheol on that back. "Thanks hyung."
"Thank you Oppa!" Said Sofia as she leaned over the counter, helping Joshua remove the lids from the containers. Seungcheol has ruffled her hair before he continued to spill exactly how he ended up with a date from Jeonghan.
As Seungcheol spoke, the three siblings were busy setting up the table, Seungcheol helping by grabbing the glasses and drinks for everyone.
The day had ended with Seungcheol staying over as Sofia wanted a movie marathon, Joshua couldn't say no since it was Friday night.
