And light to meet it. . .
.
.
.
As I lay on the bed, I feel his presence coming closer and closer. . . He seems relieved as he calmly walks back to me. That creepy old man must have believed him.
Hopefully.
I close my eyes, feeling anxious. We both will die if we are caught. It will be all my fault if that happens.
A wave of fatigue hits me hard and I'm hanging on a thread between consciousness and the darkness that is sleep.
Help me. . .
Am I useless. . .?
No.
Maybe.
Close your eyes and rest. Till the sun rises again and all will be right.
"Maysilee—lee. . ."
I hear my name being spoken softly as a bare hand goes through my hair and to my shoulder. I sigh before my eyes flutter open and he's sitting beside me, looking at me like I'm something to treasure.
To keep safe.
"Tomorrow I can get you out, back to your home." His voice trails off as he tells me this.
I want to tell that I don't have a home, that I'm always traveling to new places. I don't have a place where I belong.
He senses my trouble.
"What is it?" He questions, concern written on his face.
"It's nothing." I reply, I don't want to cause any more trouble for him when he's already trying to get me out of here.
He looks down and then away from me. I can feel the slight anger in the way he is tense and holding his breath. He stands abruptly and clenches his fists before exhaling and releasing the aggressive hold.
Unclenching his fists.
I'm frozen to the spot when he turns around and stares at me. I'm not afraid of him, but I feel awkward because of the way he is looking at me.
He strides over to me and I flinch before gasping as he kisses me a bit aggressively. His hands are holding my arms down. His skin causing fire to ignite inside my veins.
"Ben—," I say his name between a kiss before he silences me again. His grip on my arms loosens and they end up around his neck as my hands move to his hair.
He lifts me up and holds me up against the wall most near the bed.
"Ben—!" I say his name again but more in a low tone as he begins to kiss my neck.
And then he's away from me. I drop down to the floor, my back against the wall. I'm out of breath and panting. He's facing the wall on the other side of the room where he has his forehead as well as a clenched bare fist against it. He's also breathing heavily and standing very tense. He's trying to contain self control. I'm not sure that if we continued, that we would have any.
He turns around again and approaches me slowly. He opens his arms and bends down to embrace me.
"I'm sorry." He says and I let him hold me as I try to calm down.
"It's alright, Ben. Just hold me. Okay?"
He nods against my shoulder.
