Steve had always liked you, even though he tended to show it in a way you found confusing. He just didn't know how to handle his feelings correctly, especially when it came to talking to you. He felt like he just said whatever was on his mind instead of thinking.

You walked past him towards your locker which snapped him out of his thoughts. You just looked so pretty this morning with your hair just cascading down your back, your pink sweater, and your jeans and brown boots.

However, you were, at this time, dating Billy Hargrove who was the new badass, basically a super villain from a movie, kind of guy. Not to mention, he acted like a douche in the general public.

Steve had always wanted to talk to you but since you were dating Billy, he knew it was best to keep his distance and not cause any trouble.

After all, he never wanted to see you hurt.

It was after second period when you and Steve first made contact, and it was on complete accident.

You were distracted by looking down at your math homework while walking to your next class in the hallway. You hadn't gotten it done yet but you were known to finish it earlier than expected.

Steve was just walking, not paying much attention before he bumped smack into you, causing a swear word to slip out between those pretty lips of yours.

"I am so sorry!" Steve hurriedly said, bending down to get your papers and books off the ground while you just sort of smiled softly.

He handed you back the books, his eyes suddenly meeting yours and he came to realize that he was looking right at the angel he stared at every morning.

"I, uh, yeah, um, well, here you go." He managed out, his words not forming a complete sentence while you just confusingly stared at him.

"You okay?" You asked him, clutching your books close but your eyes kept darting away from his. You seemed nervous about something that wasn't school related.

"Yeah, I'm cool, I'm good. Great, in fact!" He said, mentally screaming at himself for acting like such an idiot in front of you. This was his golden chance to make a lasting impression on you and he was screwing it up royally.

"So, I'm sorry but I really shouldn't be talking to you." You apologized, looking up at him before turning around and noticing Billy coming in your direction.

"Why's that?" He asked, finally not stuttering out or struggling out a single word. He was genuinely curious now.

You nodded your head back subtly to your boyfriend that was walking your way. "He gets mad when I talk to other guys."

"Sounds like a douche to me."

You laughed lightly, making Steve's heart skip a few beats. God, you were so adorable and sweet. How did Billy get a girl like you, seeing as he acted like a complete douche himself.

You then felt an arm wrap around your shoulders while you looked down to the floor, suddenly embarrassed.

"What're you doing, Harrington." Billy said, giving him a stern look while you just kept your gaze on the floor and didn't dare say a word.

"Just making friendly conversation." He told him, giving him a look while you just swallowed down the fear that was building like a lump inside of you.
