Chapter 5

HICCUP POV:

I ran up to my dad. "Dad please, I can make him straight" I said. My dad signed and turned to me. "Sorry son but it's too late. If he could be straight I would let you teach him but some things can't be changed" said my dad. He started leaving. "No Dad, please. FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE CAN'T YOU GIVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE" I yelled. My dad said nothing. I left and cried myself to sleep that night. Jack was going to be murdered and I can't save him. Toothless felt sorry for me. The next morning my dad stormed into the house. He must know I am gay. I signed and went downstairs for breakfast. "That devil" said my dad. "What" I asked. "Jack said he has a boyfriend here who is also gay and they did it. I was up all night trying to get him to who it was but his lips are sealed" said my dad. I signed in relief. He doesn't know I'm gay but I feel bad about it. After breakfast we left to go see Jack be murdered. Every one was on the docks. 

Jack was tied to the mast of the ship. I signed. I didn't want to watch them. I left. Astrid followed me. "Hiccup, I know that these are hard for you to watch but you will have to do that some day" said Astrid. "No, Snotlout will be chief. I can tell" I said sadly. I turned away from Astrid. "Hiccup, no one believes that" said Astrid. "They did before" I said. No one every said it to my face but I know they thought it. "Ya BEFORE YOU TRAINED TOOTHLESS. JUST BECAUSE YOU FEEL BAD FOR GAYS DOESN'T MAKE YOU A BAD CHIEF" Astrid yelled. I frowned and turned to her. "I DON'T JUST FEEL BAD. I SHOULD BE UP THERE WITH JACK AND EVERY OTHER GAY PERSON" I yelled. "What are you saying" asked Astrid crossing her arms. "I AM GAY BUT NO ONE HERE HAS FOUND OUT YET. Except for you" I said after realizing what I just yelled. Astrid froze. She laughed. "Okay very funny" she laughed. "I'm serious" I said. Astrid stopped. She frowned and punched my shoulder hard. "Ow, Astrid" I said rubbing it. "You're gay, why didn't you tell me? I could of helped you" said Astrid.

"How, by making me straight? Astrid I was born gay and that's something you can't change" I said. "Well, I can try" said Astrid with her hands on her hips. I frowned at her. "Look Hiccup, I care about you. We are friends and your dad is the chief. He will probably allow this" said Astrid. I saw Jack's ship burning in the distance. "Not if he knows I am the one who did it with Jack" I said sadly. "It, you mean like it it" asked Astrid. "Yes, what else do you think I meant" I asked angrily. "That's the past, I'm helping you change whether you like it not" said Astrid. She ran off. I hope not to tell my dad. I got a idea and walked home. I stood in front of my house. I grabbed a branch off the ground. "Toothless, plasma blast" I said. Toothless lit the branch on fire and I threw it at my house. I watch it burn to the ground. I did it to send a message and I needed to let my anger out some how besides screaming like always. When the fire was gone and the house was ash I left. My dad and I slept at the great hall that night.
