I once again entered the dark room, instead of opening the curtains letting in the sunlight.
"Dad, I'm fine, and my studies are fine you have nothing to worry about," I say into the phone. My dad was really worried that since I was staying in a hotel my grades wouldn't be as good as they could be.
He's always been like this, expecting the best from his children, although the three of us never lived up to his expectations.
I was the youngest in the family with an older brother and sister. My brother is twenty, while my sister was turning nineteen in two months.
"I just wanted to check, you know I only want the best for you," he says making me smile. Although he can be tough at times we all knew it was just because he loved us.
"I know, but seriously I'm fine, the dorm will be ready soon and everything will be back to normal," I say putting down my bag and laptop on the desk, with much struggle since I was still holding the phone to my ear using one hand.
"Well I hope so, anyway I have to go talk to you soon," he says. We quickly bid our goodbyes. Just as there is a knock on the hotel door.
I drop my phone on the desk as well making my way towards the door.
I open it to be met with an unknown guy. I furrow my eyebrows, he obviously didn't work here considering he was just wearing a pair of black jeans and a casual shirt.
"Can I help you?" I question after a minute of just having this guy stare at me.
"Yes, I have been told that you made the noise complaint last night," the guy says. I raise an eyebrow. He must be the guy from upstairs.
Well, he really didn't look like your typical dude to sleep around.
"So your the annoying person who lives above me" I laugh, leaning against the door frame.
"Wouldn't classify myself as annoying?" he says with a smirk causing me to roll my eyes at his cocky behaviour.
"I haven't had a good night sleep since coming here, so I think that's enough to classify you as annoying," I say back.
"Well I can help with that problem if you'd like," he says making me scoff, this guy has no limit.
"I'd rather continuously stab my hand with a fork," I say back, making his smirk increase.
"Looks like I found myself a feisty girl" he laughs, why he seemed amused with the situation I'll have no idea.
"And now looks like you lost her," I say slamming the door in his face turning around.
Screw the hotel for outing me out for my complaint.
I returned to the bed grabbing the book of poetry that I had on the nightstand. I don't know what it was but poetry just calmed me down.
After about ten minutes of reading the book, much to my disgrace, the highly annoying moans and screams started from the room above me.
Did he seriously have a girl up there when he came down to my room?
I didn't really understand why he had come down anyway, just to check who was complaining, I have no idea.
I rolled my eyes closing the book knowing I will no longer be able to concentrate.
I grabbed my phone and earphones, putting them in and putting my music loud to drown out the noise as I attempted to get to sleep.
