It had already been a 3 weeks since Dustin told Steve about Valerie. Steve never mentioned it to Cassandra. Cassandra and her family have been having 3 happy weeks of normal lives. Hopper and Betty reconnecting a friendship. Cassandra finally meeting the group, Valerie hangs out with after school. Seth playing basketball and beating Billy. Steve and Cassandra becoming very close friends.
It was Sunday. Steve's eyes were closed. He was laying in the grass at the nearby park. It was about 10:00. He layed in the grass, taking a nap (by accident). He was originally working on homework, but fell asleep as he layed on the grass, reading an essay. He started to hear voices. He slowly opened his eyes and right there before him was a Cassandra leaning over to look at him. He was startled at first by it. He jumped a little. Cassandra laughed.
"Did I give you a scare there, Steve?" She laughed.
"Cassie! How long have you been here." He slowly got up and turned to her.
"Just got here. I saw you laying there and wanted to make sure you if you were dead or you were sleeping." She said.
"Good thing I can count on you if I actually need help." Steve joked. Cassandra laughed. She reached Steve's hair and pulled a leaf out of it. She let it fall to the ground, then smiled at him.
"Working on homework?" She asked as she looked down and saw his backpack unzipped and a folder out. He looked down and looked back up at her.
"Yeah. Senior tests and essay's, graduation is in a couple of months." Steve explained. Cassandra nodded. Steve wouldn't be at school next year and Cassandra would have to deal with cocky Billy Hargrove by herself. No help from Steve or her brother. Although Cassandra felt like she was in control and didn't need help to deal with a douchebag like Billy Hargrove or anyone.
"Yeah, Seth's getting ready for it too." She pushed a few strands of hair behind her ear. Steve starred at her.
"Will you go? To see me as well?" He asked. She starred in his brown eyes.
"If you want me to." She smiled. He smiled back. Steve then stood up and reached out for Cassandra to grab his. As she did he pulled her up.
"C'mon let's go to Benny's." Steve said. Cassandra nodded and they headed to Steve's car.
They ordered lunch and sat at a booth by a window. Little did they know that Johnathan and Nancy were close by watching the whole thing go down.
"Cassie. Where do you want to go after highschool." Steve asked. then quickly ate a french fry. Cassandra thought for a moment. It honestly never occured to her where she wanted to go.
"I honestly don't know. I mean i've always wanted to go to brooklyn." She said and took a sip of her sprite. Steve nodded.
"I mean same for me. I don't know what college I what to go to. I thought about just settling and working for my Dad." Steve explained.
