Santana
"Are you ready yet?"
Morgan yelled from my room,
"Yeah, just a minute!"
I put on my outfit for the Spring Formal, a long black dress with sequins on the chest area. I adjusted the straps of my dress before smoothing it down and coming out of the bathroom.
"Hot."
Ronnie commented as Morgan nodded in agreement.
"Let's go!"We stepped outside to see that a sleek, white limo was already waiting outside for us, the interior design was so amazing that only a billionaire could afford to own such a vehicle. Ronnie, desperate for champagne attempted to pour a glass of wine, but was unsuccessful as Mo and I managed to stop her and turned her attention to the mini assorted sweets bar instead, as we sang along to radio. Tonight would be our first perfornance as our band that we formed about 3 years ago, we would be performing in front of the whole school and the three of us were so nervous we were shaking. Coincidentally, the song we were performing came on, Morgan began to play an imaginary drum beat, Ronnie played her air keyboard and I mimed the lyrics whilst playing my air electric guitar. When we finally arrived at Formal and got out, I could feel the bass of the song playing thumping underneath the soles of my shoes as well as hear it, I could feel nerves coursing through my veins even stronger than before, and the sight of my crush Brandon did nothing to stop them. I'd developed the hugest crush on him ever since he let me borrow his pencil in middle school and got detention for me, in fact, I would even say I was in love with him. During my daydream, I was interrupted by a loud and enthusiastic
"Let's do this."
I turned to look at Ronnie who looked so pumped for our performance and her energy was infectious.
When we entered the building it became clear that the speakers were blasting out One Direction's 'No Control', Ronnie spotted a waiter and the tray he was holding which was ladden with fancy food, then chased after him like a crazy person, Morgan's date Zeke came over and led her away to dance, leaving me alone. I decided to go look around and talk to some people, including my mom, the principal, but on my way to the snacks Brandon bumped into me.
"Hey, watch where you're going idiot."
"Damn, do you really have to be such a jerk?"
He rolled his eyes at me and walked over to his girlfriend Marissa, the most gorgeous girl at school. She had the glossiest golden blonde hair that seemed to never hold a drop of grease, long toned legs, a curvaceous body and piercing blue eyes that held you in your place. Every guy wanted to date her and of course, every girl wanted to be her. Well, except me and the girls. After she noticed me looking she wrinkled her nose and stuck her middle finger up at me but before I could retaliate, the band was called to go up and perform on stage. Perfect timing mom, perfect timing.
"And now, I would like to give a very warm welcome to Neon Pink!"
A massive cheer went up as our band made our way up onto the stage and got ready to perform. Silence fell across the room with the exception of a few hushed whispers, no doubt speculating about whether out performance would be awful or awesome. Morgan began to play the familiar drum beat that we all knew so well and Ronnie joined in with her keyboard before I began my guitar riff and filled the room with my voice. I loved the feeling performing gave me, it was why I did it. I didn't have a care in the world, all my troubles temporarily melted away and I got to have fun with my friends at the same time. I was gonna miss this feeling when we all split up and left for college. Which would be soon.
