"Camden you did it." I said to the crouched over figure.
The entirety of my immortal life and it was this boy that I fell in love with.
One hundred and eighty four years. This whole time I had thought that my ability to love had died along with my heart, one hundred and eighty four years ago. I never thought someone so weak, powerless, an- I guess I just never thought it would be him that could make me finally feel human again.
"mhmm" I heard him groan.
He turned his head in the dim room his crouched body rotating just enough for me to see a dark spot in his gray shirt. I slowly come to my heightened senses to smell that all too familiar bitter, metallic scent.
"Camden." I whisper trying to hold my breath. Tears falling down my face betraying the strong exterior I try so hard to hold.
"Is that blood?" I try to hold my voice steady but I can't overcome the tears demanding to be heard. "Tell me that is not your blood."
I drop the knife not caring about the legacy, my fate, my future slot in the council. It is just him for me, just Camden. I walk across the small room and reach out to touch his shaking shoulder.
"Camden, is that blood?" I kneel to his side and grab his chin and pull him towards me so I can see his eyes, his beautiful brown eyes, framed with salty tears and crusted blood. I couldn't bring myself to look away I could smell the blood, there was too much.
"No?" He grunts shifting his weight lifting his hand to my face, with a half smile gracing my presence.
"You know that isn't the kind of question you answer with another question." I said with a sob of a laugh.
I finally risked a look down to see where he was injured. A stab wound just below his ribs.
"Oh, god, Camden." I looked back to his face to see him growing more and more pale. "You're gonna make it. I can save you."
"No!" He coughs trying to catch his breath again. "You can't I-I don't belong with you. You know I wouldn't be able to make the change."
"It is not up for discussion. Camden I cannot lose you, I-I uh, I-I just found you." I started taking off the outer layer of my armor.
"You need to let me go, I am so sorry. I thought I was strong enough." he grabs my arm, trying pointlessly to stop me.
"You're going to let me take care of you. I know you aren't used to this. But you have to let me save you because if-if you don't make it I won't be able continue god forsaken life."
"Ry-" he tried to speak.
"No! we're doing this. Now!" I finally got my wrist exposed and bit into the veiny part. "You make me weak Camden and that, I can't lose that. I can't lose you."
"Okay, Ryland let's do this." He pulled my arm over and pressed a kiss to where he was holding my arm earlier.
"A-Alright," I bring my open wrist to his mouth.
"I will take care of you every step of the way Camden. I swear on my life."
"Wait." he said holding my wrist. "I love you too."
I pushed my wrist to his mouth and used my other arm to hold his neck. To hold him close, trying to transfer my strength to him.
It is hard to believe that in this world there are supernatural. Vampires like me and werewolves that did this to him. But I can give him the strength to survive this, he has to fight and he has to live.
