Forgotten Memories 1

*Flashback*

JHope POV

During middle school summer vacation, my school decides to go to Daegu for school trip. Since I never been outside of Gwangju before, I decided to join the trip not only to enjoy myself but also to gain knowledge of other part of Korea.

After we reach our destination and simple briefing by Miss Lee, our Trip Advisor, all of us part ways. I went to the nearest convenience shop to buy ice cream.

“TaeYang-a, didn’t you just buy some stuff just now?” I am startled by the question when I went to pay for my ice cream. When I look up, the owner gave this me this weird look.

“Uhm… Are you talking to me, auntie?” I asked.

“Who else is there but you?”She replied back.

“You must be mistaken. I just arrived here yesterday. And my name is not TaeYang. Name Jung HoSeok.” I replied back while holding my nametag up so that she could see.

“Sorry my bad. You look familiar, dear one. Sorry again for sudden questioning. Hope you’ll enjoy your stay here. Here some apples for you to bring back.” she replied while packing a small bags of apples for me. Usually, I don’t accept gift from others, but that time I make an exception as the apples that she gave me looks delicious.

I decided to sit at the nearest bench and enjoy my ice cream. There were a few kids playing at playground near the store. The heat was unbearable and lucky for me the bench located under a big tree. The shade protected me from the heat of the midday sun. Those kids could actually play at the playground under such a condition. Salute to them.

While enjoying my ice cream, I realize there was a boy sitting at the other end of the bench. Curiosity swarm over me as I keep observing that boy.  He looked pale and was in pain while clutching his chest. I had a bad feeling throughout the observation and decided to go near that boy to see if everything alright.

“Gwenchana?” I asked him and he just passed his medicine to me without a sound as I saw him struggling to open it. I quickly opened it up and gave the prescribe tablet to him and my mineral bottle for him to drink together with his medicine.

He looked like about to passed out. I decided to look for help when somebody held my hand. This make me turned and saw that boy holding my hand while another hand still clutching onto his chest.

“I-I’m f-f-fine. P-Please d-don’t--”said the boy while trying to catch his breath and suddenly collapsed in my arm while I was kneeing.

“You don’t look good. You need to see a doctor” I replied whispering while still holding him.

He softly whispered back “I-I’m f-fine. I j-just need a rest. No d-doctor. Jebal.”
I am surprised by his request. Usually, people would rush to see doctors if in his condition. He seems to hate seeing doctor I guess.

I looked at my watch and indicated 2pm sharp. Since the gathering time was 5pm, I had a few hours to spare. I felt downhearted to leave that boy behind and decide to stay with the boy. I tried to reposition myself when the boy started to whisper again “No doctor. Jebal”

“It’s ok. I’m trying to reposition myself as we are kind of in a weird position here.” I replied back as I afraid people would think we were gay. He slightly opened his eyes to see the position he was in and chuckled.

“You seriously have the time to laugh in this kind of situation?” I questioned him curiously while trying to position us in not such a weird way. I seated myself beside him and let him rest on my lap and said “now rest.”

He nodded and processed resting. His face looked so pale like his blood got drained out completely. He still clutched his chest but slowing released them as time passed by. Finally he dozed off as he had peace look on his face. I was so exhausted of the incident that I snoozed off as well.
