Chapter 21

I paced back and forwards with my hands shoved in my pocket. I was caught up in my mind. Would Austin really do this?

"Lexi!"

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked over at Seth who had a worried expression on his face.

"Are you okay? You look a bit shaken up."

I licked my lips and breathed out heavily. This can't be.

"I think I may know who would do such a thing," I spoke.

"Who?" Carlisle asked.

I sighed. "Austin."

"Your ex?" Seth asked.

I scrunched up my face in disgust, "Don't say that, Seth. It's bad enough as it is that I dated him." He chuckled.

"I understand why you think that but why would he try to kill you?" Carlisle asked.

"I'm not sure? Maybe it's to do with me being with Seth? Maybe he didn't like it so he tried to kill us off?" I asked a bunch of questions.

Soon enough, the rest of the family joined us and gasped at the house.

"What the hell?" Edward spoke.

"Yeah, someone tried to kill Lexi and Seth by setting the house on fire. Luckily Seth changed into his wolf form and jumped out the window." Carlisle said.

"I'm glad you both are okay." Bella hugged us both.

"What do we do now, Carlisle?" Edward asked.

"I can't say." He frowned.

"I would love to know where that son of a bastard currently is." Seth hissed.

"What you talking about?" Edward looks at Seth with a confused expression.

"I had a feeling Austin was involved in this," I spoke.

"You could be right," Edward said.

He slowly approached forward near the house and looked around. He stopped for a moment before walking to the side to pick something up. Once he turned around I noticed that he picked up a small petrol tank.

"I have a feeling that this logo on this tank has to do with Austin?" He showed the logo and looked up at me to see if known.

I pondered for a minute, I swear I've seen that logo before. I carried on with the pacing back and forwards I was doing earlier to help with my mind.

I gasped, which made everyone look at me. I had finally remembered where I saw the logo before.

"Austin has a tattoo of that logo on his top right arm. I noticed it one day and pointed it out. He showed me it fully and said, quote...,"

"It's my own logo. It represents me and my henchmen."

"Henchmen? What's that?" I asked as we carried on walking.

He sighed, "it's people who work for me."

"You have people who work for you? Why?"

"I came from a wealthy family, these people are known to work for us. Y'know like helping us with cooking or cleaning."

"So basically a maid?"

"You could say that."

"...but he obviously lied about the meaning of 'henchmen'. I researched it all afterwards." I explained.

"Did he ever tell you where he currently was living at the time? He could be still there?" Carlisle asked.

I looked over at Seth and sighed. I didn't want to talk about my ex when my current boyfriend is right there. It's kinda embarrassing and awkward. But I proceeded anyway.

"Alaska."

"We could make our way there? I mean, after all, he did do all of this. We need to confront him." Edward said.

"True."

Within that moment everyone ran inhuman speed further into the forest whereas, I, on the other hand, was on Seth's wolf pack and Renesmee on Jacob's wolf pack, holding their clothes.
