Every child is afraid of the dark. They might not know it yet, but when thrust into the unknown a child can be scared very easily. And it might not be darkness as in there is a lack of light. It can be darkness as in the resurfacing of a recognizable evil that one wants to stay out of their thoughts and dreams; forever. And this was the type of darkness that scared Six. She saw the swirling mist that lured her to her inevitable fate. It was new but somewhat familiar. As the mist continued to swirl it became more violent; pulsing and lashing out in different directions. It then started to fade, slowly revealing a looming figure who's rather straight back faced Six. It was a woman, but a woman who was so intimidating, a woman with such power that she appeared to be more monster than human. Draped in a kimono made of a fine plum colored fabric, the woman's hair was in a bun, but it was so long that there was more sleek black hair flowing over her shoulder. She began to turn her head slowly towards Six, revealing her pale white mask with eyes that looked more like hollow holes in her head. Six's vision blurred as she could feel the woman's power draining her of all of her energy; all of her freedom. Six was slipping, and she was going, going, going.....
Six gasped for air as if she had been drowning. She awoke to find herself in her suitcase; safe from the Lady. These dreams and vivid hallucinations became more and more frequent. No matter how far away she was Six always felt that she was right in the Lady's grasp. The frail girl arose from her makeshift shelter; something that was provided to her from the most unlikeliest of friends. She reached into one of the pockets of her vibrant yellow raincoat to retrieve a silver cigarette lighter; a rather small item that fit in her hand perfectly. Six used the lighter to produce a small flame which had illuminated the space around her. At first glance it had looked as though she had a force field of light. She passed through the familiar scenery; a giant room of only metal, empty cans and boxes littered everywhere, and small silhouettes running up a steep and narrow staircase. She encountered a vacant lantern that had been screwed into the floor. With the girl's height, she didn't even have to bend over to light it. After opening a small metal door to the small metal shaft, she crawled her way from one room to the next with great caution. She traveled through the air vents to encounter something a child Six's age never should. And she heard them before she saw them. After climbing oddly stacked wooden planks she reached a platform that led to another room. Six precariously placed one foot in front of the other, using her lighter to guide her. And then one of them came. Dangling from the ceiling was something coiled, almost looking like a nautilus shell in a peculiar sort of way. When she entered its sight the mysterious object was released from the ceiling and made contact with the floorboards. The girl jumped back, her light revealing none other than a leech, a leech that was large enough to wrap around her entire body and strangle her. She knew because she had seen it happen before. She jumped over the grotesque creature and began to run, dodging the forthcoming leeches that had spotted her. These creatures were something that would terrify the average child beyond their wildest dreams. But they didn't terrify kids like Six. And this was only because they knew that there were other monsters who were larger and all the more dangerous.
