Jess's Pov-
"Mom. I'm here, don't worry." I say as I go to her side taking her cold hand.
"Oh, Jessica. There you are my angel... Where were you?"
"I was just getting some soup for you. It's your favorite!!"
"Oh yes. Chicken noodle soup... You remembered?" She asks a little slow and weak.
I smile and nod my head, chuckling to myself. "Of course, Mom. I would never forget you or anything you like. Here, open up." I take the soup, nice and hot, open it, grab a spoon and get a scoop. I bring it to my Mom's mouth to feed her. She sips then swallows, letting out a small sigh of warmth and enjoyment.
"Aah... Thank you dear!" She puts a hand on my cheek and rubs it with her thumb. I smile and put my left hand on hers, closing my eyes and taking in a breath of the moment. "You look like your father."
I let my hand that is on hers fall to my lap. I sit up straight and a little angry. "Well, he isn't and he will regret it... Someday."
"Promise me if you ever met your father, be accepting to him. Be the best you can. For me, in case I die..."
"I promise... You are not going to die, mom. I'll save you." I say trying not to cry.
"There is my girl! Always trying to save me." She giggles making me smile.
"Get some rest, Mom. You will need it if you want to live another day." I tuck her into her bed and pick up my mess then turned the light off and closed the door. I go to my room and feel tears coming.
"Why is my girlfriend crying?" Dave asks.
"You mean ex. What do you want?" I say snapping.
"How are you holding up?" He says getting up from a chair and walking towards me.
"Holding up with what?" I snap.
"With your Mom? How is she?" He asks truly concerned.
"Not to well. She may die either tomorrow or sometime soon. She keeps on mentioning my father and how I am just like him. I want nothing to do with him."
"But you have to if she dies. Who else will take care of you? You will have to accept him no matter what." Dave adments to me.
"Your right, I did promise her that I would go with him if I did meet him.... I need you to leave though. I told you to leave me alone and never come back. Now get out or I'll show you the way out!!" I yell the last part at him.
"But babe-"
"I AM NOT YOUR BABE!! LEAVE NOW WHILE YOU ARE HEALTHY!! GOT IT, BUB?!" I yell. My claws come out and the middle one almost at his neck. He nods scaredly and runs out of the house. "Shit! He is going to tell the whole world isn't he? Oh well, I need to watch mom."
