Jay pulls into the parking lot of Weyburn Comprehensive School. Honestly, It looks really nice. It's definitely way nicer than my old school.
People are walking around the parking lot, talking and laughing with each other. My breath catches in my throat and I freeze.
I can't do this. I can't do this. I can't do this.Jay seems to notice my hesitation. He turns to me and lightly punches my shoulder. "Chill out little cuz. You'll be fine." He only says that to tease me in an attempt to lighten the mood. Our whole lives he has rubbed it in that he's 2 weeks older than me.
His birthday is March 3rd, and mine is March 17th. He never lets it go that he is 14 days older than me. Normally it's annoying, but right now I'm thankful.
I turn to him and smile, silently thanking him. All of a sudden I hear someone bang on the door beside me. I jump at the noise and turn to glare at whoever did it.
I'm not surprised to see Brady standing there. He is currently laughing at me, probably because I got scared. I roll my eyes. I grab my door handle, and swing the door out really hard when I open it.
The door swings out and hits Brady hard. He doubles over clutching his stomach, where it hit him hardest. "Why'd you do that, Livvy? I thought we were friends?"
I close the door and stomp on his foot when I walk past. "That's not my name" I say to him. I am slightly amused by how he's acting, but I'm not going to show it. That will just encourage him.
Alex walks up to me and drapes his arm around my shoulder. "Well, look who's just a little ball of sunshine this morning!" I laugh a little at this, surprising myself. I didn't know it was even possible to laugh while this nervous.
"Hello to you too, Alex." He looks down at me (literally, because I'm short) and grins boyishly. Someone calls his name across the parking lot, and he waves to them.
"I got to go, but I'll catch up with you later" he says to me.
"Um, don't feel like you have to. I'll be fine." I say to him, trying to give him the hint that I don't want to. Judging by how many people are now watching us, these guys are only going to attract attention to me.
"Nonsense!" He shouts at me, already crossing the lot. "I'll see you later!"
I look behind me at Jay, who is just a couple of steps back. I stop and wait for him. Soon, we are walking side by side.
"So, do I have to go to the office to do stuff...?" I ask, unsure what to do.
"Yeah, you probably should. That way you can get your schedule. I suggest you hurry, though. You don't want to be late on your first day."
I'm about to ask where the office is, but he is pulled away by a blonde and a brunette, who are giggling his name. I roll my eyes, and continue walking without him. If I can just hurry, then maybe I can find it on my own and still be on time.
Suddenly there is a Blonde chick standing in front of me. Sure, she is sort of pretty, but she looks so fake that it cancels it out. At least it does in my opinion. I get the feeling that others don't agree judging be the way people stare at her.
"Hey there, new girl!" She greets me with way too much enthusiasm that it sound fake. Everything about her seems fake. "My name's Corrine, and you should hang out with us today!" She gestures to herself and 2 other blondes standing behind her. They all look fake.
I roll my eyes at her. Does she honestly expect me to say yes? "No thank you." I simple state. I turn and walk around her, ignoring her shocked expression.
As I am reaching the door, I pass a girl with pink-purple hair sitting on a bench by herself, laughing. I turn and see she is watching Corrine. I realize that I still need help finding the office, so I sit down beside her.
