The Hallway Of Stairs

I end up not eating dinner. Crabs, octopus tentacles, and clams are not my type of food. I manage to sneak a roll from the kitchen though. I climb the stairs and prepare for bed.
I take a hot bath, loving the clean feeling it gives me. I put on my black silk pajamas and brush out my hair. It lets loose over my shoulders and sprawls down my back. I look in the mirror as I wipe off all my make-up. I look so different without make-up on. I never go outside without it. My sky blue eyes don't seem to pop out as much without my eye shadow and my lips are a pale pink without my dark red lipstick.
A few hours have passed since I was sitting in the dining room, and I'm finally ready for bed. I slowly creep under my bed spread, almost savoring the feeling of warmth and comfort it brings me. I lay down, only to find a discouraging sight. The door is wide open.
Eh, I'll close it in the morning. Then, I remember Cole staring at my bedside and the old man stroking my hair. Without a second thought, I climb out from under the covers and get up to close the door.
My feet touch the cold floor and I feel a chill run up my spine. I quickly make my way to the door. I reach for the knob and see a light. I slowly peek out the door and see a figure, holding what looks like a candle. Suddenly, the light goes out. Someone is trying to hide. Well, they suck at hiding.
The figure slowly starts toward the stairs. Without thinking, I follow it. The floorboards are old and creak if you step on them wrong. Of course they do. It's a creepy night and I'm following someone who is trying to stay secret.
I tiptoe on the boards. They squeak at times, but not loud enough to echo off the walls and make any really loud noises. The figure in front of me is dong a pretty good job too. It gets to the stairs, which are made of marble, not old wooden boards. It quickly begins to disappear. I take a risk.
The stairs are four feet away from me. I run as lightly as I can on the floor. They moan softly under my feet, but I get lucky. None creak very loudly. I look for the familiar silhouette. I find it at the bottom of the stairs and see it cross the main room and sneak into the kitchen. I know that that room is the kitchen because that's where I found the roll. And stole it. And ate it.
I sprint, almost slipping down the stairs. I cross the room and slip through the kitchen door. I catch sight of the silhouette just before it goes into a door in the back of the kitchen. I didn't know that door was there.
I follow it and see more stairs. They lead up to another door. I am so sick of stairs and doors. There is a bright light shining on the door and now I can see the person I've been following: it's Cole.
He slows down as he approaches the door, every step getting heavier and slower as he walks. Finally he reaches the door. His hand can't seem to grab the knob. He turns around. I slip through the door and back into the kitchen. I hear a door open and when I peek back in, I see Cole close the door behind him.
I start down the stairs and get slower and slower as I approach it. It's just a door. My hand is hovering over the knob. Cole is making me feel like he's scared. Well, it's not going to work on me. I open the door and slam it behind me. It is pitch black in the room. Great. More darkness.
