Hiiii!!! I hope you like the story so far. I will be writing from a slytherin point of View and about what it was like for slytherins at hogwarts. I really do hope you like it! I'm trying my best. Please comment and vote, I know it's not the best but it's my first attempt at writing.

The atmosphere was tense as the first years shuffled their way into the entrance hall. Chloe, still holding Draco's hand, was anticipated but her nerves were getting the better of her. A pretty, old, witch dressed in emerald green, with a thick Scottish accent, told the students to be quiet and wait until she came to get them. As soon as she walked away Draco engaged in a conversation with the one and only Harry Potter. Chloe wasn't really listening to their conversation, there was something in there about wizarding family and friends, but other than that, Chloe wasn't paying attention. All she knew was that Harry rejected Draco's friendship offer.

She felt quite bad for Draco, other than Blaise, he didn't have many male friends, but she also knew Draco was an extremely confrontational person and his 'offers' didn't always come off in the best way. He's never had to make friends and the friends he has were his friends as soon as he was born. This made it difficult for him to make new friends. The hall fell silent as the sorting hat started with his annual song;

Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.

You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat
And I can cap them all.

There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry,
Set Gryffindors apart;

You might belong in Hufflepuff
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true,
And unafraid of toil;

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;

Or perhaps in Slytherin,
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means,
To achieve their ends.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands (though I have none)
For I'm a Thinking Cap!"

It was all a blur to her as they made their way through the sorting. The sorting hat called many names which honestly she couldn't care less about such as 'Ron Weasley' and 'Harry Potter'. She didn't care if they were gryffindor or hufflepuff, she was focused on getting into slytherin. Finally Draco's names was called.

'Draco Malfoy'

'Slytherin'

'Hannah Abbot'

'Hufflepuff'

'Ernie Mcntyre'

'Ravenclaw'

'Dean Thomas'

'Gryffindor'

'Blaise Zabini'

'Slytherin'

'Rosalinda Humphrey'

'Slytherin'

Chloe was filled with joy as her best friends were sorted into the house they are all destined to be in.

'Chloe Campbell'

Her heart was racing at a dangerous speed as her name was called. She looked at rose for comfort. Rose flashed Chloe an encouraging smile. She walked up to the stool suddenly feeling much smaller than everyone else around her. She took her seat and took a deep breathe as Professor Mcgonnagall placed the hat on her head.

'Ahh, another pure blood. You have wit and intelligence but not quite a ravenclaw. Let's see, definitely not a hufflepuff, your too strong minded for that, where to put you, where to put you. I see bravery and courage

'Dont even think about it'  interrupted  Chloe,

'Ahh spiteful I see, I know what you hold most dear. Your determination gets the better of you, you have ambition, a thirst to prove yourself, better be

SLYTHERIN!'

The sorting hat finished. Chloe let out a breathe she didn't know she was holding as she got off the stool flashing a huge grin to all her friends. She practically ran over to the slytherin table beaming with happiness and relief. She look up at the enchanted ceiling and could've sworn a star in the sky winked at her. Draco collected her into a bone crushing hug,'I knew we could do it Chlo' he said.

The sorting finished and Dumbledore got up for his speech. The group of friends weren't very fond of Dumbledore and were already aware that he wasn't a very good head master. They didn't pay attention to his speech at all really. All they heard was 'Enjoy the feast' and food appeared in front of them almost instantly. It was all the food Chloe could ever want. The chicken was cooked to perfection and she tucked in to the succulent wing.
'I'll tell you what, these house-elves really out did themselves. Mum says that they're what make these meals, personally I don't want their filthy hands on my food but I suppose they're okay for cooking' , Rose, Blaise and Draco laughed in agreement as they all too, started to tuck in.

After the feast the prefects rushed them to their common rooms. Hufflepuff took off down a well lit corridor, gryffindor went up the changing staircases and ravenclaw headed straight for a tower. Slytherin however were led into a dark dungeon, there were hardly any lights and it smelt like seaweed, the air was damp, thick and disgusting. They finally got to an enchanted door. The prefect started explaining how it worked.

'Getting in is simple enough, the door knob is enchanted. It knows if your slytherin or not and if another house even try and touch it, it will hex them. '

She then opened the door and what was behind the door left Chloe speechless...well...almost.

'UGH!! This is gross, are we fish? No. So why are we underwater!' She moaned to Rosalinda. To be honest, Rosalinda thought she had a point, there was thick, bullet proof, unbreakable glass on one wall. Behind the glass was murky, green water. Peculiar creatures swam past hissing at the clear wall between them and the students. To the right of them as they walked in there was a roaring fireplace, freshly lit and around it were three, large, black, leather sofas. There was a spruce wood coffee table in the middle of the sofa and the fire with a delicate, snake like mantelpiece, placed in the centre. Underneath the table was a rug embroidered with intricate patterns and symbols all in black, grey and green. There were large curtains at either side of the glass wall that were a dark, emerald with sliver patterns spread across them. To their left there was a notice board with all different stickers, notifications, notes and drawings stuck around it and then different educational posters stuck around it. Then there was also a stair case leading upwards. The carpeted stairway lead to the girls dormitory. Whereas the boy's stair case was behind the fireplace on the right.

The prefect continued 'Girls on the left, boys on the right, need any help, don't ask me because I really don't care.' And that was the gangs welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
