Allegra
The conversations were boring. All everyone wanted to talk about was dresses, who was dating who, business techniques, and politics. The music was dry. Nothing but slow instrumental pieces that you couldn't even waltz to. Not that Allegra would be able to dance anyway, with how tight her ballgown was on her waist. She could barely breathe with the corset they insisted on shoving her into. The people were only a reminder of her father's world. The world he cast her out of. The world she would die if she had to be a part of it. The only good thing about this party is the food, even if it was small. That is why she and Cedric decided to hide out by the buffet tables until the party was over. Even Zain stuck around that area, but Allegra figured it was out of fear of embarrassing himself around new people despite the kid saying that he didn't want to leave his friends. Milena, on the other hand, didn't have the luxury of hiding away, as she was the center of attention and everyone needed to talk with her. Allegra couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Even from all the way across the room, Milena's smile was clearly fake. Even Zain could be able to tell.
Allegra went and stuck another cream puff in her mouth, letting the food be her distraction from any familiar faces. But that didn't mean that the others couldn't see her.
"Aaaaa, Allegra!!" someone called.
She grimaces at the high pitch shriek. Speed walking across the room was a girl with large hazel eyes and an annoyingly ginormous smile. Her ballgown was made out of the finest pink and white fabrics, with sparkling silver lace outlines any edges. Around her neck was a diamond necklace that blinded Allegra with its reflectiveness. Half of her light brown hair was in a bun on the back of her head, with the other half of her having been curled into perfect ringlets. Allegra wants to vomit at the sweet image the girl continues to keep up twenty-four seven.
"Someone you know?" Cedric leans over and asks her.
"Unfortunately," Allegra responds.
"You have friends here?" Zain replies.
"She's not my friend."
"She's acting like she's your friend."
"Trust me, that's all that is. An act."
The girl throws her arms around Allegra's neck. When she finally releases Allegra from her grasp, she puts her hands on Allegra's shoulders.
"It has been too long," the girl claims. "We have so much catching up to do."
"I'm going to have to pass on that this time around," Allegra says.
The girl laughs, "It's good to know you haven't lost your sense of humor. I'm going to be honest. I was surprised to see you here. I haven't seen your father here at all."
"Well, it looks like he wasn't invited."
"Then how are...Hey!"
The girl is cut off by Zain going and grabbing her necklace to examine the large stone that was on display on her chest. The girl rips herself out of Zain's grasp causing Zain to tilt his head. Cedric chuckles at the display and Allegra rolls her eyes.
"What do you think you're doing? Pervert!"
Zain turns to Allegra, "What does pervert mean?"
"I'll explain later," Allegra promises.
"You know this Caller?" the girl asks.
"Yeah, I do. Zain, Cedric, meet Rosa, the daughter of the man who controls the high-end jewelry industry."
"Great, another rich person that's gonna piss me off," Cedric mumbles under his breathe.
Rosa doesn't hear him as she continues to talk about their current topic, herself. "In fact, I'm wearing one of the newest pieces Daddy designed for his fall collection. No one else can have something like this because it's not available for sale yet. There's only two of it's kind anyway, and I'm going to be keeping this one to myself."
