You had just taken Calvin to his 11 month check up at the hospital, you were told everything was perfect and he was growing perfectly but you shouldn't let him out of your sight as the doctor thinks he will be ready to walk any minute, any time and you should both start to encourage him to do so.
Jack was sat on the floor a fair distance away from you holding Calvin on his two feet, keeping hold of his hips to help him balance.
You held out your arms and called his name to encourage him to walk towards you, he was a little hesitant at first but then he took a few shaky steps towards you using jacks hands as a balance but then he fell back on his bum causing him to screech in frustration. Jack just picked him up placing him back on his feet to encourage him to try again.
You were both sat there doing the same technique with him for around 30 minutes when you suggested doing something different. You told him to place his hands on Calvin's hips instead of holding his hands as this may help him balance more as he had his hands free. He guided him as he took a few shaky steps and then jack let his hands fall away from Calvin's hips as he then carried on taking a few more shaky steps towards you, you kept your hands held out so he could grab them when he'd finally managed to get to you.
"Well done baby boy," you said excitedly lifting the little boy up and peppering his face with kisses.
"Go back to daddy now!," you said turning him to face jack as jack held out his arms waiting and encouraging him to come back.
You didn't even need to keep your hands on his hips he just waddled shakily over to jack.
" Look at my smart boy, well done little man!," jack said throwing him in the air causing him to erupt in a fit of giggles.
He was 1 in two weeks and you couldn't believe it, you were so happy with your little family, you wouldn't change it for the world.
