Sakura perched on the edge of the window, her legs swinging merrily as she gazed around the Hidden Leaf Village. People were milling around, exchanging brief conversations with each other.
Sakura lifted her head, letting the wind flow behind her hair and past her neck, strands of her pink hair twirling in the wind, falling neatly in place on her back.
She smiled as she twirled a strand of her long pink hair on her finger; recalling the memories of her short hair. She had grown it out long once more, but she planned to cut it once more.
Her hair wasn't the only thing that changed. She had changed her outfit, a red top with a neck collar and pink stripes, and white shorts, and long black boots, as well as a yellow silk belt and black gloves. She was no longer clingy nor frightened, but strong and confident, and a little more blunt.
Sakura looked down and peered amidst the crowd, she saw a mesh of spiky blonde hair, and Naruto Uzumaki was talking with Hinata, laughing every now and then.
Sakura suppressed an affectionate smile at the sight. Every villager knew that Naruto and Hinata were deemed the "perfect match" for each other, and it was true. With Naruto's outright funkiness leveled out by Hinata's calm and loving nature, they were truly right for eachother.
This brought unsettling thoughts of being lonely forever float into Sakura's brain, and Sakura tensed, gripping her hands on the rail of her window tighter, staring at the smooth wood.
Sakura quickly shook the thoughts out of her brain, willing herself not to think of such unnecessary topics for now, and she hopped off the windowsill and landed on the concrete ground.
Suddenly, a familiar scent of chakra made Sakura quickly turn and jolt to the gate, and the other villagers, noticing the chakra scent as well, all gathered around towards the gate.
There was Sasuke Uchiha, standing there, eyes narrowed.
"S-Sasuke?" Sakura managed, her words dragging out of her almost instantaneously, as the other villagers murmured in surprise at the sudden arrival of the Uchiha.
"Yea?" Said a voice behind her, and Sakura whipped around, and there was Sasuke, standing behind her, and Sakura, confused, turned back the the gate, and the Shadow Clone had vanished.
Sakura smiled slowly, but she felt nothing of happiness nor obligation to hug him. Perhaps it was the confusion and the suddenness of it all that Sakura couldn't quite take it in, therefore making it harder to show him affection.
"Sasuke Uchiha is back!" A voice cried.
"The Uchiha?"
"Ah! The legend of the tales, I heard! He's still alive?"
Soon, kids, adults, and others were pushing to see the legend, the one that abandoned his former clan and tried to destroy the world, but failed. Everyone knew of Sasuke, but soon the hatred had subsided and he had been welcomed back into Hidden Leaf Village.
"Wow! Your Sasuke!" Small children ran up, wondering whether to be afraid or in awe.
Sasuke ignored all of them ,and turned to Sakura, giving her a nod, and Sakura had her head turned, distracted, and quickly whipped her head around and slowly nodded, her head feeling heavy. "Welcome back, Sasuke." She told Sasuke formally, meeting him in the eye.
He had indeed grown taller, but nothing compared to the surprise in Sasuke's eye.
"You've...changed.." Sasuke said, still meeting her eyes.
Sakura could only nod again. "So have you." She responded curtly, feeling an odd sense of tension in the air as the only thing they could do was look at each other eye to eye.
Suddenly, a flash of orange and black made Sasuke topple over, making Sasuke fall flat on the ground.
"Hey!" Naruto cried. "Welcome back, Sasuke! Whats up?!" He cried, shaking Sasuke by the neck.
Sasuke, annoyed and flustered, shoved Naruto heartily off him and scowled at him, as if to say Naruto was stupid to think he would be glad to see him again if he gave a welcome like that.
The look that Sasuke gave Naruto sent memories flooding back to Sakura, all of them painful.

"Um..I'm Sakura, my hobby is.." A young pink haired girl in a long red dress sat on the steps next to a black haired boy, who didn't seem to care, and a boy with spiky yellow hair. Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto, all younger.
Sakura glanced at Sasuke, blushing profusely. "My dream is..." Once again, Sakura glanced at Sasuke.
"And my hobby is...um.." she stopped once more.
"And who I like is..oh, do I really have to say it?" She asked, still gazing at Sasuke with foolish affection in her gaze.

"You're a long way from home, and you're way out of your league." Comes a achingly familiar voice above Sakura's head, and she turned. Sasuke was sitting on the branch, his dark coal eyes narrowed, and a frown of exasperation creased on his forehead.
He gripped the rock in his hand tightly, his frown increasing as he grips it tighter. "Get lost." He deadpanned to the Sand Villagers harshly and opened his palm, revealing dust from the rock he was once holding in his hand that dispersed in the air immediately.
"Sasuke!" Yelled Sakura, her heat throbbing just at the sigh of the dreamy Uchiha. 'oh Sasuke, you'll be such a great husband one day!'

Sakura tensed, kunai knife in hand, prepared to take out the ninjas that were lunging towards her. 'i can do this I can do this!' she felt sweat pouring between her fingers as she gripped the steel grip of the kunai.
A flash of blue and black stopped Sakura in her tracks, and Sasuke was in front of her, his hands held out to the ninjas. "Don't worry." Sasuke said, not turning around. "I'll cover this."
Sakura stared at Sasuke, spellbound, and lowered her eyes and blushed.

Sakura blinked, her memories pulsing pain into her brain as she tensed, sorrow, frustration, love, all swamped Sakura as she heard Sasuke and Naruto talking.
'Why I am not happy! I should be happy. I love Sasuke so much, but why do I feel like a stranger is standing before me and Naruto?' Sakura glared at the ground. 'These memories are drowning me in all these emotions, it's almost impossible to tell which is which!'
As she forced herself to look at Sasuke again, she made herself recall joyous memories of her and Sasuke, but all she could see and think was the kunai knife, held in Sasuke's hand, flying toward her face, his bitter words, his scorching glare.
"Sakura!" Naruto's voice snapped Sakura of her dark memories, and Sakura looked up. "Sasuke is back, do you not see?" He teased.
Sakura felt nor joyous or the mood to tease back. "I did." She responded curtly, and before her brain could stop herself, her body turned and walked off, tears leaving a trail along her footsteps.
