Tears streamed down my face as I trekked through the woods

Tears streamed down my face as I trekked through the woods. The more I ran, the harder it got to breathe. It felt as if the trees were caving in on me trying to get me into their grasps with their branches.

"I lied to you! I'm not okay with you being with Paul!"

Fine, that I could understand, but Clarie didn't have to lie to me. Clarie could have just told me from the start that she would care if I started to date Paul. Not that I was dating him anyway.

"I don't understand what he even sees in you! You are plain and boring!"

I knew at that point she was being hysterical, that her words didn't mean anything. But it hurt. It hurt for my sister to tell me that I was plain and boring.

"So, whats the excuse with you then? Huh, Clarie? If you recall he cheated on you!"

Then again, at the same time, my words weren't rational either. We both said something that I knew we would regret in the end. It was bad of me for moving onto Paul so quickly after their break-up.

Wait, what I am saying? He was moving onto me and I was just being his friend right now. Even though I felt that pull of the imprint I was trying so damn hard not to fall in love with him all over again.

I stopped my running to catch my breath and wipe away some of the tears that I gathered. Dad got home during the fighting, he tried so hard to get us to stop fighting, but it was no use.

Clarie and I haven't fought like that in a long, long time. The last time was when my mom was still here, which was before I started middle school. It's been a long time.

"You smell delicious."

I jumped at the voice looking around before my eyes fell on top of a redhead. Didn't Paul tell me to stay away from a redhead? Crap.

"Uh, thanks?" I said before starting to walk backwards to get away. How is it that I manage to get myself into these situations? "It was nice meeting you, but I have to get going," I told her wanting to walk away, but not wanting to turn my back on her at the same time.

Her smile turned up with a wicked smirk, her red eyes taunting me. "Why were you crying, Arden."

I froze in fear when she spoke my name with a taunt. How the heck did she know my name? "H-h-h-how do you know my name?" I asked stepping back and tripping over a branch. Thankfully, I was able to catch myself and not fall onto the forest floor.

"I've been watching you, don't worry, she'll forgive you," she told me making me gulp. Victoria (was that the name Paul said?) took a deep breath no doubt inhaling my scent. Her eyes turned a darker shade of red before she snarled out one word, "Run."

No time was wasted as I booked it out of there. Maybe it was time for me to finally get in shape of vampires were going to be chasing after me. As I ran I swear I saw brown fur following beside me.
