It’s been a long, hard war
Too many tears were shed
And after peaceful moments
Always came a moment of dread
But now the invading sadness
Is quickly running away
We’ve been through so much pain, but now
We can finally breathe, we can finally say:
The occupation is over
It’s gone on way too long
But now the occupation is over
We’ve finally won so let’s sing our songs
The white fluffy clouds drift through the sky
They look like sheep, but they’re really rain
Just waiting, waiting, waiting to fall
Ready to drop and relieve the pain
It’s been three days, but this joy
Never seems to grow old
No longer are those tears falling
Life did get better, just like we were told
Because the occupation is over
Now we can run around like we used to
The occupation is over
So we can do what we want to do.
Occupation is over and done
Now we can finally see the sun
Occupation is over and done
And now we know, we know we’ve won.
