I was sitting in science class and we were discussing the topic of recent discoveries when our teacher put up a picture of a rock with writing all over it. She said that scientists haven't been able to translate what it says but that their working on it. That's when I raised my hand.
"Mrs. Lloyd," I said "why do they need to translate it?" She gave me a look of confusion.
"They don't know what it says Ava." Mrs.Lloyd said blatantly.
"Well it's not that hard to read Mrs. Lloyd..." I say back as if what was on the board were some sort of trick.
"Please enlighten me Ava, what does it say?" She said sort of shell shocked.
"It looks like it was a letter to a loved one." I say "it is from someone who is in a war, he said that he might not make it home and that he loves his wife and daughter very much..." I say trailing off at the end.
"Thank you Ava but that's quite enough." Mrs. Lloyd said as if I had been joking.
"I know you think this is ridiculous Mrs. Lloyd but I can read that..." at this point everyone was staring at me. My face was burning up with embarrassment but I tried to push it down.
