"You look horrible. Have you eaten anything yet?" asks Zinfadel.

Beth shakes her head. She got no appetite at the moment.

It's been a week since she left Finn's house. He never came to meet her. Not even a word as if he already forgotten about her. Knowing him, it's probably the case. Got a new woman already.

Beth sighs. Finn is a jerk. Still he is still her husband. Until death do them apart.

(Why would Finn think I cheated? I only talked to Wesley Brown).

Zinfadel sits down and plays a grand piano in Tremayne music room. Beth picks up her violin. Playing the same music, Chopin mysterious forest.

Kim folds her hands.

(Stupid Finn! Now they are back together again).

Zinfadel brought some roses for Beth earlier. And they talk about their favorite novel. They both love music and books. Destined to be together.

Kim frowns. She leaves the music room.

(She left in a hurry. Did she have a date with a man?)

"You missed a key again. Twice in a row. Not like you at all," protests Beth.

"My mistake," says Zinfadel.

"Your eyes kept darting to Kim. How could you focus?" teases her.

He is silent.

"Any progress between you two? She seemed upset when you brought me roses," asks Beth.

"What do you mean?"

"Can't fool me. I know you have loved her for years."

"Beth!"

Zinfadel is too shocked.

(Beth knew?)

"Why? You accepted my proposal?" asks him.

"Just to make her see you. She got so many suitors that she preferred to avoid all the bachelors."

"I'm speechless."

"Why? Because I'm not a stupid cow? I'm smarter than I look."

Zinfadel stares to her. Beth used to be a shy and calm woman. Now she speaks a bit bluntly. Must be Finn's influences.

Beth says, " Kim is a good lady. Too stubborn like all folks in Trentham bloodline. But she has a kind heart. Go for her, Zinfadel. I don't want her to marry a treasure seeker."
