You'll hear her at night. Walking past the Sunset Hospital at night when it's quiet and peaceful. Then you'll pass the Hospital by a block and hear it. A maniacal laugh, followed by wheezing and choking. You might begin to hear giggling. Not creepy giggling but happy and cheerful giggling. You might turn around to walk back to the hospital. It is well lit up and there's always someone at the front desk or a security guard by the doors. You'll try to be safe. You won't be.
She'll cry out in pain with sobs in her voice."Don't leave me like they did!"
"I can't be alone anymore!"
"Don't forget about me!"Something inside you will make you turn around. A human moral or an instinct. You won't know but you'll turn around. In front of you will be a small bed and breakfast where families of patient stay. It's the only hospital in a 3 hour radius. There will be chairs stacked against the walls and closed umbrellas over empty tables. A street light will illuminate the are in front of you. You'll feel safe again but you still won't be. You'll keep walking. Then you'll hear it again. The sobbing and broken laughing with choking. You'll turn around or look at the street but not find anything. In the moment where you're not looking in front of you, there she'll be. A young woman with faun hair and a hospital gown. She'll be sitting in one of the plastic chairs from the bed and breakfast. The chair won't be in the friendly knee high gates of the building. It will be in the center of your path. She'll look pretty at first. Well kept with her hair pulled back and her gown fitting her like a wedding dress. This is Alba. A day after she was emitted in the hospital after her two lovers died under horrible circumstances. You'll feel comfortable around her. Only for a minute....
You'll blink and she'll change.
Her hair will be oily and tangled and in front of her face. Her gown will hang off of her bony figure like a tablecloth. She'll be gasping for air, a panic attack taking her. This is Alba before she died. You'll be afraid again. You might run or stay there frozen. She'll get you either way. All of a sudden she'll be in front of you. The lights will be gone and the ground will become wet. She'll have a radiant light. You'll see her eyes. Red and puffy and surrounded by scratch marks. You'll look into them, you can't help it. You'll experience all of her pain, loneliness and lost hope. She'll grab you and break into a laughing sob. She'll tear skin from you arm and you'll see deep scratchy marks with a river of blood pumping and flowing out. You pass out or scream or run but when you blink again. It'll all go back to normal. They marks will be gone, the lights will be back and the night will be calm. You'll charger to the hospital and they'll emit you for shock. You'll leave the next morning but you'll only recount the tale if you're asked. If you do, you'll hear this story:
After the loss of her two lovers, Alba Richards became a shell. Her parents kicked her out of their home and she was taken in by her aunt. A week after, Alba stopped eating and stared at the wall all day and night. Her worried aunt emitted her to the hospital's mental ward. She showed no improvement. During a crowded day in the hospital lobby she walked out. She went down to the bed and breakfast a block away. She sat down. Put her head down on the table and died. She was overcome by heartbreak, insomnia and starvation. The town remembers this day. They thought it was the end of the tragedy of the three young lovers. They were wrong.
