Human Error (a Johnlock fanfiction)

chapter 5

(A/N sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been so busy!! Enjoy :) )

"John"

"what?"

"I love you too"

Sherlock never thought he would say that to anyone, but John was the exception. John was always the exception.

"how long?" John looked like he regretted saying that. Why did he? Was he embarrassed of Sherlock?

"Since the day Mike brought you to Bart's and ever since. I didn't know what it was at first. Thought I was just feeling a bit down because of the case but it never stopped and it never will."

Why was Sherlock suddenly being so open? He never told anyone anything nevermind his feelings?! He trusted John he realised. He trusted John like he had never trusted anyone before. He never had trusted anyone before. But John had changed all that. John made him feel. John made him human.

"I... Sherlock... That's.....Wow...."

Suddenly, without warning, John smashed his lips into Sherlock's. He was surprised at first, but soon began to kiss back. He savoured every moment. He could feel John's heart again his own rapidly beating one. He had never felt anything like this before. Ever. It was perfect.

"Let's go home."

The words slipped out of Sherlock's mouth without him even noticing, he was too caught up in the moment to be aware of anything. He felt the suggestion was a good one, all he wanted was to be with John. His John. Sherlock smiled at that. It felt good.

Tenderly taking John's shaking hand in his own, Sherlock began to walk, run, toward the main road. He did miss taking a cab..

John's POV

"John please.. I.. I don't want to.."

"You have to eventually Sherlock... Better sooner than later, eh?"

"B..but what will she say?.. I let her down.."

The last four words were barely a whisper, it made John want to break down crying. Why would Sherlock think she'd be angry? She was the most kindly old woman John had ever met?! And after all, what Sherlock did, he did because he had to, right?

"Sherlock, she won't be mad. She'll just be a bit surprised, that's all."

"You think?"

"Of course you idiot! Seriously, for a genius you can sometimes be incredibly think!"

John smiled playfully letting sherlock know he was Joking, soon they were both in fits of giggles. John hadn't laughed this much since... Since.. No don't think about that now... He's back, and that's all that matters.

"Shall we?" Sherlock smiled joyfully, motioning to the door.

John couldn't help but return the smile. " After you.."
