Human Error (a Johnlock fanfiction)

chapter 4

Sherlock's POV

(A/N: so this is the reunion from Sherlocks point of view so there's a bit of a time jump, enjoy!)

Standing there, with John in his arms, Sherlock finally felt complete. When he had first seen his doctor, he couldn't stop the deductions from coming, dark circles, hadn't slept properly for weeks, drinking more than usual, hasn't eaten a proper meal in ages...

He felt terrible, he had done this to his John and he felt like killing himself for real this time. John had tried to kill himself! Sherlock almost started crying there and then but he held himself together, he couldn't let his feelings show.

"I have to say it now, before it's too late. I love you, Sherlock Holmes. Always have, always will. I know you don't feel the same, you're married to your work you always said..." John trailed off, Sherlock never thought he would hear those words from anyone, never mind the most amazing man on earth.

He knew he had to say something, and soon, but he couldn't find the words. "John" he started.

"Please don't. I've had enough of this. You're not real!" John shouted disbelievingly, had he really done this to him?

"I'm real I promise, as real as the atoms that make me up. John, please turn around and look at me." Sherlock's voice cracked and he hated it. He had always been able to control his emotions until now, hide them with an emotionless mask. But John changed all that.

John dropped the gun to the floor and turned around. "Sher... God... You were... You..." he sounded so defeated, like he was just begging for it all to be over. He probably was.

John fell into Sherlock arms and just cried. Sherlock wasn't expecting this. He expected John to get mad and punch him, he probably would later but for now Sherlock was just enjoying this moment. He wanted to stay here with John forever and never let him go again. Ever.
