Kaia's POV
"How is she?" I heard a voice say as i heard a door open.
"I'm afraid there's good news, and bad." another voice started. I tried to sit up but it was like I was taped to what I presumed was a bed.
"Doctor, please" He said. My heart jumped, realising it was Charlie.
"The good news is the stabbing wasn't fatal and will heal. The bad.... She suffered a bad blow to the head, she is in a coma and although she can hear us, is unresponsive. We're remaining hopeful and doing everything we can but it doesn't look good."
At that moment I swear I could feel my heart breaking. I'm in a coma.
I heard the door open and someone walk in.
"I heard everything..... I'll sit with her for a bit. You go sleep." I heard Carter say. The door opened and closed leaving the room silent.
"Hey, It's Carter. It's just you and me now. I'm so sorry to see you like this... While you're... here our old Alpha - Alpha Jordan - has been reassigned...... Ok, I need to stop pretending - I can't stop thinking about the kiss. Kaia, I'm in love with you."
Carters POV (well this is new)
"I'm in love with you." I told the beautiful, amazing girl laying lifelessly in front of me.
"You're fucking what?!??! " Charlie growled from behind me. I stood up and looked straight at him. "Kiss? What kiss?" he pressed.
I hesitated.
"Tell me!" he shouted angrily. I ran my fingers through my messy hair and sat down.
"That girl. That beautiful, smart, funny, amazing girl lying there - I love her. After the fight, I went to apologize and we - I kissed her. but she wasn't to blame and probably still feels guilty. But no matter how much you hate me for it, I'm in love with your girlfriend and I can't make that go away because, well, its love." I finished my speech and looked at my brother.
"Who the fuck attacked her then?!" he said completely changing the subject.
I have my suspects.
