My eyes fluttered open and I sat up. It took me a couple minutes to work out where I was. I stood up and walked over to the mirror in the hallway. I looked a complete mess. My makeup was all smeared although luckily still concealed the bruises and my hair was a complete mess. I undid the braids and let my hair loose, massaging my scalp and shutting my eyes at the pleasure.
"Prim, are you awake?" I heard Jacks mum call. I walked towards the kitchen to see her. She had Jacks hair colour and the same eyes. There was this sort warm vibe about her. She smiled at me.
"Thankyou so much Mrs. Smith." I said softly.
"Call me Jane and don't worry. Me and Jack are always here for you. He's told me so much about you." She grinned. Had he told her about my suicide attempts? I quickly smiled at her. Jack came running down the stairs.
"Prim are you okay now?" He said as he came in. I didn't reply I just hugged him tightly and nuzzled into his neck.
"Thank You so much. I don't know what I would have done if you weren't there." I whispered to him. He grinned and hugged me back tightly.
"Its what friends are for." He kissed my forehead. "Now you're staying for dinner, don't object."
"I'd love to." We all sat down and had a lamb curry. It was so delicious. "I really owe you both something for your generosity today. I honestly don't know what I would have done if you weren't there."
"Don't be silly. We are always here for you." Jack grinned, as he finished his bowl.
"Well I'll clean up." I said, and before Jane could object I was already washing up.
---
I got home thankfully before Dad. I rushed round, quickly tidying up and sorting him a plate full of dinner. I then ran upstairs and changed and sorted myself out.
Just then my phone stared Buzzing. Jack was calling.
"AYE PRIM."
"Jack." I giggled.
"You know how you were like." He then put on a very soft quiet girly voice. "Oh Jack, I'll do anything for you. I love you Jack."
"I don't recall it quite like that." I giggled. "But yes."
"Well basically right, the schools got this whole stall thing to raise charity and Mum volunteered to help. I know right, idiot. Anyway, she's making me do it and I'm gonna make you do it so I don't die."
I giggled. "When is it?"
"This Saturday. We'll pick you up. Come on babe...."
"Okay, I'll do it." I grinned, it actually didn't sound too bad. It was at school, nothing could happen.
"YASSS. Okay ill see you tomorrow."
---
We were early for English so we had to wait outside. I really didn't want to see Mr Harding at all. The door swung open.
Jacks eyes widened. "Mum?!"
"Oh Hi guys. How are you both?" Jane smiled at us both, stepping out and letting the door shut behind her.
"What are you doing here?"
"I had to speak to Mr Harding about Saturday, he's helping in our stall. And thank you Prim for volunteering as well." She smiled.
"I-its not a problem..." I said. WHY MR HARDING? Ughh. Jack seemed equally as annoyed but his Mum had definitely not picked up on it. She smiled at us both and ruffled Jacks hair before leaving.
