The walls were painted a light cream. Posters of classic films and books were hung up all across the walls expect one which was filled with vinyls. A vintage phonograph was in the corner of the room. The bookshelf was full completely of books, I ran my finger across the row of them, reading the titles as I went. There were photo Frames but I didn't want to seem intrusive so I didn't look. A large grey sofa faced his TV and the small black coffee table was in between. A double bed was in the opposite corner and right at the foot was his desk, books, papers and pens were scattered across it. I absolutely adored the place.
He was biting his lip as he watched me, a small smile across his face. "Its so small but so is a teachers salary." He chuckled. I turned to him.
"Its wonderful." I breathed, his smile grew wider.
"Oh yeah, do you want a hot drink?" He ran his hand through his hair and his jaw slightly flexed, I felt my breath hitch. He was so cute.
"C-can I have a coffee please?" I said, peeling my eyes away from him.
"Sure, I'll be right back." He opened the door to the kitchen and put the kettle on. "Sugar and milk?"
"Yes please." I pulled off his jacket and laid it neatly on his bed then went and sat on the sofa. I nearly jumped right out of my skin when I heard the small meow. A chubby grey 'british shorthair' cat brushed against my leg.
(She thicc)
"Hello." I giggled, picking the cat and holding it like a baby in arms. She nuzzled into my face, purring loudly, sending soft vibrations up my arm. I scratched it lovingly behind her ear, she pushed her cold nose into my hand making me giggle. "You're so cute. Yes you are."
"Who you talking to-" His jaw dropped when he saw me and the cat. "She hasn't ever gone to anyone but me before!"
"Im special." I giggled and he rolled his eyes. "Whats her name?"
"Stella Kowalski."
"The Streetcat named Desire." I winked. He laughed and then his eyes widened.
"Wait you've read Streetcar?"
"Of course, its one of the classics." I shrugged, stroking Stella's neck.
He didn't reply, he just stared at me with a sort of impressed look.
---
We talked for ages about all the classic books and films. He was amazed at my knowledge. Stella was fast asleep on my lap as I drunk my coffee.
"Favourite book, film and TV show?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Book has to be To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Favourite Film... Fight Club. All time favourite. And TV show has to be Stranger Things!"
"YES!" He grinned, his eyes filled with humour again. We fangirled about them for hours.
It was nearly 7pm now. I had to go. "Thankyou so much for everything Caleb." I said standing at the doorway, he stood only inches away from me.
