Katrina really hated the new people at her school for they all made it impossible for her to actually hate them. First there was Liliya who she had desperately tried not to like, but Liliya was such a genuinely nice person that she couldn't help but be nice back. Then came Rosa who she had tried to ignore and ended up bonding over their hard past. Last was Fuschia and after what Rosa told them about the girl Katrina couldn't help, but at least feel sorry for her.
Amnesia was hard enough without the added facts of Nerocongtive deficit, Toxic Waste, and going to a new school. She also had purple hair and eyes that also made her seem like she had a purple obsession. Which was why Katrina decided to befriend her or at least try. The bell rang to 8th hour rang and Katrina packed up her band instrument before waiting for her by her band locker since they both played bass clarinet. " Do you need something?" Fuschia asked her closing the door to her locker. " You probably know this by now but my names Katrina Savvin and I wanted to tell you I know what it's like to be the "weird" new kid. So I was hoping we could be friends, but if you don't want to I'm fine with the alternitive." Katrina said nonchalantly. " I'd be honored to be your friend Katrina." Fuschia said giving her a small smile.
" C'mon I want you to meet someone." Katrina grinned and she started walking off in the direction of the senior lockers. Her and Celestia always had lockers right by each other which was nice considering everyone except Zia and Aqualia were juniors in their group. " Celestia!" Katrina cried hugging her purple haired cousin. Most people didn't know that she and Celestia were cousins, because she never talked about her parents or that they live in the same house much. " A little warning next time Katrina or you'll give me a heart attack. You must be Fuschia I'm Celestia Louis Katrina's cousin." Celestia smiled kindly.
" Cousin you two are related." Fuschia said wide eyed, but she seemed to have relaxed slightly from earlier. Celestia was one of those people that was easy to trust and easy going as well. Katrina honestly didn't know how Celestia did it. " Me and Celestia actually live together since my parents died in a house fire when I was young." Katrina told her. " I never knew my family, but I know what it's like to lose someone I think so I'm sorry for your loss." Fuschia winced and Katrina gave her a small smile. Usually she didn't think people really meant it and were just saying it to be polite. It was one of the reasons she got along with everyone in her group, because they all were either adopted
(Liliya, Lila, and herself), parents divorced ( Zia, Valentina, and Valeriya), or orphaned with Aqualia.
" I'm mostly over it considering they died when I was eight." Katrina shrugged. " The orphanage I lived at couldn't find my mom and my dad didn't want me so I just grew up there until I went missing for a couple of years." Fuschia frowned. " Our friend Natalia Averin has a situation like that except her mom was a long time dead person." Celestia told her. " How is that even possible?" Fuschia asked confused. " I try not to think about it, besides in a world where every country has a certain gifted power anything seems possible." Katrina admitted. Fuschia laughed as they walked out of the school. " I guess this is where we part ways I'll talk to you tomorrow." Fuschia waved at them before the two cousins started towards Celestia's car. " That was nice of you." Celestia commented and Katrina gave her a half hearted shrug.
" She reminds me of me, besides she's been through enough." Katrina sighed getting into the dark purple camaro. " I'm all for helping people it's just well... haven't we been through enough as well." Celestia pointed out. " We already know that Mimic is going to cause problems for us it's unavoidable and you know it. Now we can have another friend and help a girl out or we could continue to live our life in fear of Toxic Waste or do what Liliya is doing and ignore it." Katrina listed. " When did you become the smart one?" Celestia asked rasing an eyebrow. " When did you start questioning helping people?" Katrina shot back. " You're right Katrina. Toxic Waste, it's changing us all." Celestia spoke quietly. That much Katrina couldn't argue with Katrina and Valentina had become over worried about everything, Zia and Lila were extremely paranoid, Sasha was extremely nervous, Aqualia snapped at everything only ever really talking to Zia, Liliya was a whole new level of guilty, and Valeriya seemed almost depressed. " We'll get through it just like always." Katrina assured her and Celestia gave her a skeptical look as she parked the car. They got out of the car and walked up to the mansion. Both of Celestia's parents were lawyers and made a lot of money. She hated that fact considering it made her feel like even more of a burden, but she really couldn't complain. She walked into her orange room where rock band posters hung, leather jackets hung on coat hooks, and her closet was wide open showing the assortment of goth tops, tank tops, and boots. She took off her black leather jacket and hung it up before laying down on the orange bed next to her cat Lincoln. Lincoln had been the only thing to survive the fire except herself. She could still remember running out of the house with the kitten in her arms. Now thinking about it that had been the only time he had let her hold him. She turned on the T.V and as always the first thing on was about the outbreak of powered individuals. It hadn't always been the topic of news considering that it had only been the Fischer sisters at first, but when the holocaust struck and they started experimenting on people it became a mutation of sorts. More people had powers and it came out of nowhere. Luckily the government blamed normal people for the predicament and didn't go trying to kill them all, but it had taken a long time before people had stoped killing gifted on sight and that was mostly, because they made up half of the world's population. " Katrina we need to train!" Celestia shouted and Katrina sighed before going down stairs to their fire proof basement with Celestia.
