Chapter 4

Tyler's P.O.V

"We're going on a hiatus." I told Josh. I could see the disappointment in his eyes which made my heart break. I hated seeing Josh sad, all I want for him is to be happy.

After we talked for a bit about why I want to take a break he suggested that we go to Taco Bell which was nice of him. I offered to drive and he agreed which is how 10 minutes later we ended up at Taco Bell.

After we ordered and took a seat Josh and I talked about what we should do during the break. "I was thinking of adopting a dog." He suggested. I know Josh has wanted a dog for a long time but he never had the chance to adopt one because we're always on tour.

"Josh, thats a great idea!" I complimented and he started blushing. I've noticed lately that any time I say something nice about him he starts blushing. Maybe he likes me the way I like him?

Don't be a fool Tyler. Of course Josh doesn't like you. Why would anyone like someone like you? The only reason he hangs out with you is because he's part of the band. His dream is to make music and inspire other people but you're crushing that dream by forcing him to go on a hiatus.

My smile dropped. What if thats true? What if Josh doesn't actually like me, even as a friend. Maybe he is better off without me.

"Tyler!" Josh's voice snapped me back into reality. "Sorry, what?" I was so focused on thinking that I didn't even notice him asking me a question. "I asked what the dogs name should be." He repeated.

I thought for a moment before shrugging. "I'm not sure. What's your favorite name?" He started smiling. God, his smile is so perfect. "I've always wanted a dog named Jim." I laughed.

"Jim. I like that name. Jim Dun." We talked the rest of the time about the hiatus and plans for the future. Once we finished our meals we walked back to the car. "So, what do you wanna do now?" I asked. "You know, there's actually this new Batman movie I want to see. Wanna watch it with me?" Now it was my turn to blush. Was this a date?

Of course its not a date. Who would want to go on a date with you? Stop living in your little fantasy world and wake up! Josh doesn't like you and he never will.

Those words kept repeating in my head the whole way home. I wonder what Josh really thinks of me.
