Chapter 4

The God is Good bus which departed Port-Harcourt to arrive in Lagos, after driving for awhile, sped into Warri, its first rest stop of the day. Most of its passengers were sleeping and the few ones awake were busying doing random things to notice that they had arrived at the first stop of long journey.

While we leave the bus driver with his driving, we shift our focus to Zara who was lost in her world of music. Her head rested on the window on the side if the bus. This was obviously not comfortable considering the roads they had been passing with the potholes and bumps.

You know in movies when the MC is being all sad and whatnot during a car journey and rest their head against the window, the head resting thing is totally fake, see how my head has been hitting the window since I kept it there. Forgetting about the bumpy roads, she thought about the way she reacted to the stranger. She definitely had been too harsh because it was very obvious he was joking with her. And obviously if anyone should be angry; it definitely should have been him.

With that thought in mind she decided to apologize to him, removing her earphones, tapping at her phone screen to pause the song that was playing 'Aika by Nonso Amadi ', she felt a hand tap her shoulder. Turning as she dropped her phone in her bag, she found herself almost nose to nose with her seatmate. Locking eyes with him, both Zara and stranger grazed into each other's eyes. Yup the green eyes are definitely contacts. And wow even his bottom lashes are longer than mine. Boys will just stay and be born with lashes they are not using well sef.

Blinking he moved back slowly to increase the space between them. Clearing his throat; he began, 'I'm sorry for what happened earlier, I didn't think it would annoy you, I was just trying to be funny.'

'Ah, there's no need to apologize. I was even coming to apologize; I was the one that overreacted for no reason.' Zara said low-key dying that he was actually next to her, still trying to keep her cool which was proving hard because all she wanted to do was giggle and blush.

'Let's start over,' he said, bringing his hand forward for a handshake. 'Hi, my name's Tokoni.'

She returned the shake with a firm grip, while trying not to caress it or something equally weird as she had a thing for male hands. Like you the kind of manly hands that were huge and just covered yours and with them long fingers, male hands were just sexy on another level.

'My name's Mene, Zara Mene.' she said while giggling at her attempt of a joke.

Tokoni joined the laughter and after a few seconds of laughing, they fell into silence, both not knowing how to continue the conversation after their introductions. As if the universe was on their side to prevent the awkward silence from continuing, their bus pulled to a stop and the driver announced that they had reached the Warri branch and they had a few minutes to stretch before they continued their journey.

As the driver finished his announcement, the passengers rushed to get out of the bus before the time got exhausted. Zara and Tokoni as if they had the same idea, didn't move but instead waited for everyone else to leave the bus before they came out.

When the bus was empty, Tokoni stood up and stretched his muscles that were obviously cramped up from sitting down for almost three hours.

Whoa, he's she tall oh... I wonder where I'll be reaching him with my short body, definitely my kinda guy. But wait oh as I'm claiming my kinda guy who said I'm his kinda girl.

Laughing at her thoughts, she continued to ogle at him. Turning towards her and noticing her lack of movement. Tokoni shook his head as he realized she was once again lost in thought.

'You are coming shey,' he questioned bringing her out of her trance like state. 'Or you are going to stay here and fantasize about my body.'

That brought her out of her thoughts, and surprisingly not embarrassed at being caught staring once again she stood up and playfully punched him.

"What exactly is so special about the body that I'll fantasize about jhoor?" She said as she turned to retrieve her bag that was on the seat.

Smiling at her, Tokoni continued to look at her while she collected said bag. Noticing he was looking at her she decided to do the same thing.

"Abi you're the person fantasizing now," she said standing up with a playful scowl on her face.

Realizing what she was doing Tokoni played along," Well you do have a nice bum. It would have been an insult not to stare at it." He replied with a wink.

Jaw dropping with surprise, Zara started to smile, 'You said I have a nice bum. You like my bum.'

And saying that she slowly cat walked out of the bus which wasn't an easy fit considering the fact that she had to maneuver with the chairs blocking her way. But she still left the bus with a smile considering the fact that she managed to turn tables on him and still had the last laugh in the end.
