Ch83 Closing in on the Cat P2: Alya's day

[Alya's POV]

It's Saturday morning and I'm on my way to Marinette's house. The heroes have decided to organise protection for my family, I've gotta let my best friend know. I feel as though I haven't caught up with her in a while with everything that's going on. I don't know if I'll be allowed out much if my family goes into protection, which is gonna suck for trying to sneak out to patrols, but as long as my family is safe I guess I've gotta deal with it...

I just have to visit Marinette. I've got a lot of investigating planned for today and it starts with her. I know she is close friends with Cat Noir, and I know that Cat Noir is hiding something about Hawkmoth. Maybe Marinette knows something and if not then I can always just ask her to set up an interview with Cat Noir for me. I can't talk to my teammates about my crazy Hawkmoth theories but hopefully I can talk to my best friend about it because I know that something isn't right. When I get a hunch like this I'm always right! Well, except when I thought Chloe was Ladybug....and when I briefly suspected Marinette of being Queen Bee—But that's just the gut feeling of a detective! Everyone is guilty until proven innocent.

As I approach Marinette's house, I see that she is standing on the balcony with Cat Noir.

"Perfect timing," I say happily. "Hey, Mari! Ca—"

I freeze in shock as Cat Noir slips a hand behind Marinette's neck and closes the gap between them with a kiss. My eyes widen. My gut sinks. My heart stops.

"W-What...What?"

"Interesting..." Trixx says with a smirk.

"No. Not interesting!" I reply. "Weird! Really, really weird!"

I really thought Cat Noir was in love with Ladybug, there goes my ship down the drain. Guess he really is a playboy—but Mari, she's in love with Adrien. Marinette would never cheat on him. Unless...Unless Cat Noir is Adrien. Either that or he somehow manipulated poor little Marinette.

"Alya, he's leaving, don't you want an interview?" Trixx asks.

"Better than that," I say. "I want answers."

I narrow my eyes and begin sprinting after Cat Noir. This guy really is a snake, just how much stuff is he hiding? A secret affair with Marinette—I won't believe it! I'm gonna investigate him the old fashioned stakeout way.

I keep a close tail on Cat Noir, running in the streets below him, when someone suddenly calls my name out.

"Alya! Alya, hey!"

I try to keep my eye on Cat Noir but Queen Bee jumps down in front of my path. Argh, she's gonna blow my cover. I try to peer past Queen Bee but she keeps moving into my line of sight.

"Hey, uh, I know you must be mad at me," Queen Bee says. "But I'd really like to apologise for getting angry at you the other day."

"Huh, what?" I reply. "Oh, that. That was nothing. You were right after all."

Queen Bee blinks in surprise. "I was? But, I was so hard on you about your Ladyblog."

"No, no, you're right. The Ladyblog does bring trouble." I say truthfully.

"So...you're not doing it anymore or something?" Queen Bee asks.

"Yeah, totally, no more investigating for me." I answer not so truthfully.

"Well, maybe once we stop whoever's after you, you can start it up again. I'd hate for you to give up your passion." Queen Bee says genuinely. "And, I'm still sorry for yelling at you. That was not the right way to get my point across."
