Ch. 5 | Dimitri
"Dimitri," Malia snapped me out of my glare, that was fimly placed on the door her prick of a brother had went out of. I turned my gaze towards her. "Calm down," she said, looking at me with concern. Seriously, she had only just met me and she was already worrying.
I took a deep breath and nodded. "One day?" I repeated Mason's words, questioningly.
Malia nodded, gesturing to the door and we walked out of it.
"My mom is giving me one day to show you won't harm anyone. Promise me, you'll behave," she pleaded.
I smirked. "I always behave, babydoll."
"I'm gonna regret this," she muttered and I chuckled.
"Naaah," I wrapped an arm around her shoulder and felt her stiffen underneath my touch. "I'll be a good boy," I said to her, with a grin.
Malia rolled her eyes and slapped my hand away. I pouted. "Why do you got to be so mean?" I asked.
"I'm trying to keep thinking this is a dream and my mate isn't a vampire," she said, bluntly.
"Is it that bad?" I asked, frowning.
Malia looked at me for a split second and sighed, seemingly to have felt guilty for saying that. "No, it's just that my dad doesn't believe it can happen."
I nodded once. "Understandable. But, it happened, so he'll have to suck it up."
Malia chuckled. "Yeah," she nodded in agreement. Her face seemed to have lit up, looking forward. I looked to where she was looking and saw her prick of a brother was walking towards us with a smile.
"Maliaaaa," he sang, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. A feeling rose in my stomach, when I saw this. He's just her brother. Why did I have to remind myself this?
"Mason," she acknowledged, without emotion. It was all written on her face though, she was happy to see her brother.
He pouted. "I'm sorry for being a dick to your mate, will you forgive me?" He asked, stopping Malia in her tracks.
"Mmm," she hummed, lost in thought. "I guess I can forgive you..." she dragged out. Mason instantly brightened and hugged Malia.
"Thank you!" He said, cheerfully. I chuckled.
"So, are you two close or something?" I asked.
Mason released Malia from his hold and gave me a hard look, while Malia nodded.
"Joined at the hip, all the time," she replied, with a smile and a nudge to Mason.
"Yes, all the time. Meaning, you haven't seen the last of me," Mason warned, his voice laced with hate.
"Lovely," I gave a sarcastic smile.
Mason and I looked at each other challengingly for a few moments, before Malia butt in.
"Mason," she said, putting a hand on his shoulder. He looked over to her and she smiled lightly. "Walk with us."
Mason hesitated, before giving in and nodding. He stood on the opposite side of Malia, wrapping an arm around her as they started talking.
I became interested in their conversation. It would be rude of me to butt in, so I just listened. They were quite entertaining.
"Chubs," Mason teased her, as he stretched Malia's arm out. "I mean, look at this!" He pinched the skin on her upper arm, before she tore it away swiftly. She pouted.
