Ch. 1 | Dimitri
"If you had just let me help out, she would still be alive!" My voice boomed with annoyance as I eyed my father, angrily. My mother had been taken by the wolves and my father had gone out to save her.
He had gotten there too late. Now, she's shredded apart to the point where she's barely recognizable.
"Watch your tongue, Dimitri," my father said, cooly. "You're still a boy. You would have slowed me down and you would have been dead within seconds."
I growled in frustration and stepped up to my father, to where I was nose to nose with him. "You don't know shit about me," I growled under my breath. He didn't know how strong I was; he was never around. He was always out, looking for his brothers.
They had all been missing for centuries. He had been searching for them for a while. My mother raised me, but I still turned out to be just as strong as my father-- Nikolaus, one of the Original Vampires. Now, before you think about the 'most dangerous vampire' so-called Dracula, let me explain to you. Dracula was a whimp, a weakling. He didn't stand a chance against anyone. My family? Oh, we're the most powerful, the most dangerous.
Anyway, where was I? Oh, right. The subject of my now dead mother and yelling at my father. I'm an amazing son, aren't I?
"Get out of my sight," my father growled out to me. I knew better than to disobey this wish.
"Fuck this," I muttered under my breath and stalked off, out of the house. I snatched my ring off the stand near the door and put it on, walking out into the night. It was almost sun up and I needed my ring.
You see, this ring allows me to walk in the sun. It's an ugly thing.
Do what you need to do to survive, I guess.
I walked away from the Mikaelson Mansion and to the woods. The first tree I sighted, was my victim. With full force, I made my fist connect with the trunk, causing it to tilt a little. Vampire strength. It's effective.
My father was so thick. My mother was so sweet. I can't believe my father didn't get there in time. I could have helped! Now, my mother is dead and we can't bring her back. So, it's bye bye, Madre.
I walked deep into the woods, finally calming down a little. I know my mother would be here, rubbing my back trying to comfort me, if she saw me like this and she was still alive. She was wonderful like that. I remember when she used to sing to me. She had a beautiful voice. I could listen to it forever. Now, all I have is memories and it's all because my father was too stubborn to let me help save my mother!
Now, the wolves who killed her will pay.
As I thought that, I heard a snap. I brought my head up quickly, scanning the area slowly.
Someone was watching me.
I walked in a circle slowly, hands in my pockets as I went on high alert. "Let's make this easy and skip to the part where you come out into my sight, yeah?" I suggested sarcastically and I heard a scoff, coming from my left. I twisted around and that's when I laid eyes on her.
Her blonde hair that reached just passed her shoulders and her eyes... Whoa. A captivating brown. I felt like I was graced by an angel.
If they existed, that is.
She looked at me with wide, curious eyes. For a moment, she seemed startled and then, her eyes darkened. "Vampire," she growled out and at an inhuman speed, she lunged for me. I quickly dodged her, looking at her, as she turned around, her eyes looking at me with fury.
I was startled for a moment, before I pointed at her lazily. "...Werewolf?" I asked.
"Oh, look... The blood-sucking leech has a brain," she snapped, rolling her eyes. "Use your brain now and realize I will tear you limb from limb." She glared at me and gave me a sarcastic grin. "It only takes one bite," she suggested.
"Exactly why I'm going to make sure you don't bite me," I shrugged, as if it was the most simple solution in the world.
"Good luck trying," the girl said, mocking my shrug, then lunging for me again. I dodged her just as quick and gave her a cocky smirk.
"Face it, doll, you can't touch me," I taunted.
"Go away, you pest," she gave up, going back to walking how she was before she spotted me.
"Oh, leaving already, sweetheart?" I asked, walking up to her. "Because, I think you should stay. We could have a party. Just you, me and a glass of wine," I suggested and she rolled her eyes once more.
"Go. Away," she ordered, shooing me with her hands.
"You're not getting rid of me that easily," I smirked.
"You're not worth my time," she said, bluntly.
I pouted sarcastically. "You wound me," I say, as I put a hand over my heart, feigning hurt. "You know, I've always wanted a dog," I started. She glared at me and I put my hands up in a surrender.
"As I was saying. You upped my standards, Princess," I finished.
The girl chuckled. "Right, because a vampire can handle a werewolf. With the deadly bite and all that."
"Well, let's spit all that venom in the river and start over? I'll name you fluffy and get you a pink studded collar. We'll be so happy together," I egged on. Quicker than I could blink, she pushed me against a tree, holding her arm to my neck. She gritted her teeth while she spoke.
"Pinning you up against a tree like this, I could bite you in a heartbeat. No, it wouldn't be a fast death, you're too damn annoying for that. No. First, you're going to see that my bite has caused bubbles to form inside your skin. Then, you're going to get sick and start hallucinating. You're going to feel so much pain, that you'd be begging me for the cure and you know what I'd do next? I'd give you the only cure known to exist for any werewolf bite." She inched her mouth close to my ear and spoke softly, yet still threateningly. "Driving a stake through your fragile little heart."
With that, she let me go. I was stunned for a moment and then I smirked at her. "You're hot when you threaten me. Do it again," I taunted.
"You're unbelievable!" She pushed me once more, but this time, I felt a shock course through me. My eyes widened at the impact and I looked at her, amazed. She had the same reaction, but it was more of realization and shocked mixed together. "No... No, you can't be..." she muttered.
"What can't I be?" I asked, dazed.
"This... This cannot happen! A vampire? REALLY?" She whined. She took a deep breath and ran her fingers through her soft hair. While she did that, I wanted nothing more than to have my own fingers tangled up in it. "I... I got to go!" She announced and she looked at me, challengingly. "If you follow me, I swear, you will regret it," she growled and with that, she ran away.
What in the hell just happened?
