Chapter 37

Hye Mi's POV
"Yugyeom? What are you doing here?"
I tilted my head to a side with a raised eyebrow.

Instead, he pushed me into my house and locked the door.

"The vampires got the news that Jungkook's dead and they're not happy about it. They're coming for you now so I want you to stay in this house and lock the doors and windows."
He explained, sitting me down onto the couch.

I looked up to him confusedly. I didn't get what he was trying to say.

Vampires? Jungkook? Coming for me?

"Wait, that incident was 2 years ago. And who are the vampires?"
I questioned as I looked out to the window.

He was right. A whole group of people with pale faces were coming towards my house.

"They are the vampires from the vampire world. And when one dies, the others will get revenge. Plus, no one told the vampires about Jungkook.. But I guess someone found out and told the others. We vampires are like one family, even if some are enemies with each other, we still fight together to protect our family."

I felt my heart drumming against my ribs, I suddenly got scared.

I couldn't possibly fight them right? But if I approach them, I might be dead by then.

"But why are you still here? You're a family to them too right? Why're you here protecting me when you should be over there with them."
I blurted out, looking up to him with teary eyes.

Yugyeom stood up and sighed, ruffling his hair.
"Because.. I loved you and I still do. So I'll protect you from them. I won't hurt you.."

My heart melted.. I thought that he found someone new, someone better than me. But I was wrong, he's still stuck in me and I can't do anything for him.

"Thanks Yugyeom.."

It has been hours already and the vampires are still outside, ready to kick my door open anytime.

Yugyeom went to who-knows-where. He told me that he was going to tell my dad? Then he jumped off the window.

I mean.. It's been a long time since I last saw my dad and Jaebum. A really long time.

"I can't just sit here all day.. I must do something.."
I uttered, biting onto my fingers impatiently as I walked around the living room in circles.

"Of course! I should do something!"

I placed my hand on the doorknob hesitatingly and swallowed hard.

'Here goes nothing...'

Taking in a deep breath, I slowly opened the door.
There was so many groups of vampires standing in front of me, I can't even count them.

I cleared my throat and put on a straight face.
'Be a brave girl, Hye Mi, a brave and fearless girl!'

"What do you guys want?"
I said boldly, folding my arms as I made eye contact with a tall guy.

He took a step closer to me, bending down to my level because I was too short that I had to lift up my head when I look at him.

"You. You're the one. Go Hye Mi, am I wrong?"
He poked my chest with his index finger multiple times causing my anger to rise.
