Oliver POV
It was game day today and the school was buzzing with school spirit. Silver and navy blue were wherever your eyes wandered and I too was wearing a navy blue shirt. Maybe my father made me, but whatever I was wearing the shirt nonetheless. "You going to the game today, Olive?" My dad asked as we walked out of the car.
"I got to support my dad's team, right?"
"That is true, as my son it is your duty," he added, playfully. I loved my dad, as every child should. I may have not been the best-equipped student at school, but I always respected my father. Even though my parents split, and I go back and fourth every week, I still respect both of them.
The divorce was mutual and they are still civil with each other, so what more can a child ask for? My father never once talked badly about my mom, nor my mother about my father and for that I am thankful. They have been split for about 3 years now and I am fine with it. They both still care for me equally and accept that I am bisexual, which is grand. My older sister, Jacquelyn moved out, but I still have stepsiblings to keep me company. I have a stepbrother on my dad's side, Curtis, who is twelve. He is a funny guy and always keeps me entertained, along with my stepmom, Julia. She has always been careful about over stepping the boundaries of stepmom to mom.
On my mom side I have an okay stepdad, Henry. He is quiet and tends to keep to himself, but I don't mind all that much. He had two kids, a boy and a girl. Garrett is Jacquelyn's age, 20, so I don't see him all that often, but when I do he great company. Delilah is a year younger than me and goes to a different school, but we still see each other at the house and I guess she is okay. Quiet like her dad, but it could be worse, so I am grateful for what I have. I prefer staying at my dad because the company is more entertaining, but I'd miss my mom.
"How is your sore throat?"
"Getting better, I guess," I answered.
"Good, because you are going to need it tonight when cheering us on!" My father exclaimed, as we walked into the school.
"I'll be hooting and hollering alright," I reassured him, walking our separate ways, "See you at home."
"Have a good day, Olive."
Kiera, the girl throwing the party tonight walked up to me as I strolled aimlessly through the hallway. She was a mix of Japanese and Caucasian. She had long, dark, brown hair, with pretty brown eyes. Naturally, I tried to hit on her, but she was dating a guy on the football team, Robbie and he was a good guy, so I respected that. Well, to a degree, I mean I still came onto her occasionally. "Hey, Oliver," she smiled.
Damn, that was a smile and a half. "Hey, Kiera, what's up?"
"Well, as you probably know I am holding a party tonight and I want everyone to come, so you're coming right?"
"Will there be weed?"
"Most likely."
"Then I'm there."
She giggled in response and tucked a piece of hair behind he ear. "Good! Feel free to go around and convince as many seniors as you want into coming!"
"Will do," I told her.
She flashed me a toothy smile and walked back to Robbie and her other friends, who all waved at me from afar. They made it look as if they were afraid of me, which was weird considering I am relatively easy-going guy. I saw Ryder and Mattie, with a couple other people and quickly joined them.
