Chapter One.
The harsh sunlight spilled through my dull grey blinds. I rubbed my eyes in an attempt to gather my surroundings. I sat up in my bed and sighed, looking over to the right of my room I saw my bookshelf, filled with many un-read books, dust overtook it completely. To the left of my room was my guitar and my chest of drawers, my guitar was always sat up perfectly, it was my most prized possession. My room was fairly simple, plain white walls, plain wooden furniture and a few bits and pieces lying around. My wardrobe doors were filled with posters that I had spent so long putting up. Just a normal teenager’s room. That’s what I was, a normal teenage girl, the same insecurities the same old sob stories, the same old happy go lucky person that you pass in the street each day, nothing more, nothing less.
I swung my legs off the side of the bed and sat there for a moment, thinking about nothing in particular, just daydreaming. I was awoken from my thoughts when my sister walked into my room, laughing at something she’d just read.
“Steph, have you read this”? She asked me, still laughing at whatever it was on her screen.
“Well, I don’t know sandy I can’t see it.” I stated coldly, I was still tired and really not in the mood for her right this very second. She carried on with her story nonetheless.
She shoved her IPod in my face, revealing a picture of a stick figure man, doing a very unattractive dance move.
“Sandy, that’s pathetic. Really, it’s not that funny.” I told her, getting up off my bed to choose an outfit from my cupboard.
“Whatever Steph.” She retorted, walking out of the room. “Oh by the way, mum said if you want to be at the signing in time, and still have enough time to do some busking, you have to be ready in half an hour, or you’ll be catching the bus.” She said, poking her tongue out and turning on her heel to leave again.
With a huff, I made my way to the shower. It was the quickest shower in the history of showers. I checked the time on my phone as I got out, I still had twenty minutes. I quickly applied my normal amount of make-up and got dressed. I looked in the mirror, this is the worst part of every morning, figuring out how to control my hair. I have long blonde curly hair, It fell just below my arm pits, and it was thick and hard to maintain. My eyes complimented my hair well however, they started off green near the pupils and changed to blue as they got to the outside.
Deciding I didn’t have enough time to straighten it, I dried it and left it down curly. I knew it would frizz up throughout the day, but by this stage I was totally and utterly over it. I walked out of the bathroom and over to wear Sandy was slurping away at her cereal.
“Special K, the best way to start a day.” She announced to me, as I took out a bowl and poured some for myself.
“Enough with the one direction references.” I told her. “Besides, after the signing today, you can’t talk about them anymore.” I reminded her of the promise she’d made me, when begging me to spend my earnings on the tickets for the signing. We were going to meet One Direction. I had just enough money for a VIP bracelet. The bracelet meant that we could advance straight to the front of the line when we got there. There were only twenty of the bracelets, and in my hot little hands I held two. I really wasn’t that excited, I liked their music but I wasn’t the type to fan girl over them.
“Shut up and eat.” Sandy told me. “Mum says we’re leaving in five.” She said with a smile taking one of the bracelets from the table where they were sat.
After finishing my bowl of Special K, both mum and Sandy rushed me out the door. I had nearly forgotten about busking in the city centre today and was taking forever to get my guitar and music ready. I had a set of about ten songs that I played each time I busked.
