Hazel | Grey
HAZEL WATCHED THE SNOW FALL GRACEFULLY ONTO THE CONCRETE FLOORS as the sweet smell of Hot Chocolate filled the room in swirls. She was so use to the sweet aroma that she bought hot chocolate candles to fill in the empty void of her apartment. Hazel remembered the blissful memories of growing up to her fragile grandmother brushing her dark locks as she played the tune of Frosty The Snowman on her dusty record player, an record player that would always hold special place in Hazel's heart.
Hazel woke up from her memories as she heard the chimes of the bells stating someone had entered the shop and she knew exactly who it was. Hazel looked down grandmother's watch, her brown eyes lighting up in delight as the big hand struck nine O'clock.
"Good Morning Hazel." The man spoke to Hazel his voice laced in an uplifting mood.
Hazel felt her smile rise to her eyes as her inner thoughts danced with gleam, he had come back another day.
"Good Morning to you too Grey, the usual?"
"You know me too well Hazel." Grey pointed out laughing as he found his usual spot in the cafe by the window where the sun shone down on his ocean eyes, the ocean eyes that Hazel loved ever so much. He smiled brightly at her from his spot in the corner and stuck out his tongue at her amusement as she began to put together his usual drink.
Cafe Latte, that was Grey's favourite and also Hazel's too. Though she would never tell Grey that herself, the end of result would far be too many "I told you so's " and constant beautiful smiles on his part and Hazel knew the next time he smiled at her she herself might turn into the Hot Chocolate her grandmother always made for her on the first snow fall of the year.
Hazel began to brew the expresso as she began to hum her grandmother's song to herself. She poured the milk into the jar and screwed the lit on tightly and began to shake the jar as hard as she could to make the milk frothy as Grey liked her. Hazel noticed his footsteps grew louder as he made his way to the counter that separated the little distance they had from each other.
Little did Hazel know Grey would do anything to have the space that separated them all together vanish all together in one.
"How do you even make Cafe Latte anyway?" Grey questioned his ocean eyes sparkling in gleam.
Hazel laughed at Grey's question as she took the lid off the jar and microwave the uncovered milk for thirty seconds. " It's your favourite drink but yet you don't know to make it, that's pretty sad."
"Hey!" Grey said in mock defence. " Not all of us can be talented and beautiful at the same time you know."
Hazel was taken back in surprise at Grey's comment she felt the warmness grow to each her cheeks as she replayed over and over that Grey called her beautiful.
"If you want you can come over here and help me if you can handle the power of the foam." Hazel said as she cocked her eyebrows in amusement, she watched Grey's blue eyes begin glow brighter as his smile reached up to his eyes and his dimples began to show.
"You're on Haz."
Grey picked himself up over the counter and landed in a quick thud next to Hazel in determination, his smirk growing more and more on his face. Hazel shook her head and laughed quietly as she turned away from Grey to keep herself from starting at him for too long but she couldn't help herself.
He was simply beautiful.
Grey watched her with his arms folded into his green crew neck sweater. He watched Hazel as she poured his expresso into a wide White cup.
"I thought you were going to help me ." Hazel joked to Grey as she fished out her wooden spoon from the left cabinet.
"I dunno this seems like pretty but task."
"You're such a baby." Hazel laughed, she pointed her wooden spoon at him and lightly tapped him. Before she could turn around he grabbed by the waist and stared into her chocolate eyes.
"I am no baby." Grey spoke his voice sounding deeper than before.
Hazel shuddered at the sounds of voice and the way his eyes turn an deep dark blue it almost made her turn into the shallow puddles of melted snow outside of the shop.
All she wanted was to put her lips on his before the new year ended but no beautiful guy like Grey would go for a girl like Hazel.
Little did she know, she was wrong.
