Hazel | Grey
GREY DECIDED TO TAKE HAZEL TO THE NEAR BY PARK down the hill from the coffee shop he didn't want to take her too far away from the place she loved the most. They walked along the parks trail the sound of their footsteps being placed onto the snow gave them a comfortable silence. Once in a while Hazel could feel the warmth of Grey's hand as his own hand brushed against her. She wanted too so badly reach out intertwine her own but she knew that could never happen.
The silence between the two made Hazel feel uneasy but comfortable, she looked up in awe at the trees that were covered in light flurries. She knew it was childish but she stuck out her tongue and tried to catch the dancing snowflakes in the sky, something she always did with her grandmother.
Grey turned his head and watched Hazel in amusement as she tried to catch the dancing snow flakes on her tongue. Grey thought it was the cutest sight a human could ever see.
Hazel never failed to impress Grey but he would never tell her that. Grey wanted to so badly tell Hazel how he felt about her, that his constant stops at the shop weren't just for the amazing latte he made for her but because he wanted to see her beautiful smile but she knew he would never go for a guy like him.
But what even was a guy like him like anyway. That question would always haunt his thoughts for the rest of his days. He wanted to be everything Hazel ever wanted, the guy that showed her endless love in exceeding amounts. Hazel was the strongest person he'd ever met, after everything she went through for her to come out even more beautiful and stronger than before made her even more special.
Hazel had lost everything and Grey wanted to be the one to give her everything back.
The silence had felt like forever before Hazel finally broke the long lasting peace.
"The last snow fall of the year is always the most beautiful." Hazel spoke her words coming soft off her tongue.
Grey found himself smiling as Hazel began to talk again about the snow, her favourite part of the whole year. She talked so effortlessly that put you in trance of peace and harmony. There was many things Grey could go on without but he could never ever go without hearing Hazel's soft voice echo in his head like a sweet lullaby.
"There is something about the snowflakes dancing that make everything so magical."
"Do you believe in magic?" Grey asked Hazel.
Hazel had to the give the question some thought as she had never actually really thought about the aspects of magic before. Finally she answered.
"I believe that magic is love and love is magic." Hazel said brightly."So if someone were to say that they loved you, would you say it was magic?" Grey challenged back lightly.
"Depends on who it is." Hazel laughed back softly.
Grey stoped in his tracks and mustered in a huge big breath as he looked down at Hazel's brown snow boots and smiled to himself. Hazel looked up and down at Grey in confusion as she tried to understand the scenario of what was happening.
Finally finding his inner confidence in slide of himself, Grey spoke.
"What if I told you Haz, I love you. "Grey spoke quietly.
Hazel stood in shock as she listened to the words that Grey just spoken to her. She felt the dancing snowflakes land on her nose, the warmth in her heart began to spread to the rest of her body in waves. She could feel her breathes becoming shorter.
Finally her wish had come true.
"Oh gosh, please say something Hazel." Grey said worriedly.
Hazel grabbed Grey's cold hand and placed it into his cheek in pure happiness. She could feel her smile growing bigger and bigger as she stared into his eyes of the great blue ocean.
"I would tell you, that I love you too." Hazel said happily and in that sentence they both knew everything changed but the dancing snowflakes around them would forever remain the same.
