Chapter 2-Ronnie Montgomery

As my friends and I got off the plane I couldn't help but feel completely relieved that we were done with high school. Plus we were finally eighteen. The last four years of my life were the most stressful years I had ever lived. I guess there were a ton of reasons for this, but I was not ready to talk or even think about that at this point. Mr. and Mrs. Faviana had bought Taylor, our friend Charlie and I plane tickets to London to celebrate our graduating high school. We were going to stay at Colin's house. Colin was Taylor's cousin. He was a young college graduate and just recently bought a cute little house a few hours outside of London. He was a nice guy, but not my type. Colin was the kind of guy you would find studying for a test two weeks in advance. He wore argyle sweaters and penny loafers more than necessary and I could never be interested in someone like that.

Once we finally got to Colin’s house, he happily greeted Taylor and I, but seemed to give Charlie a bit of a warmer welcome. Charlie was a petite girl with medium length brown hair and cat like eyes. She loved to eat more than anything but stayed very skinny with no effort. Charlie was studying to be a movie director and Taylor a fashion major, but I still had nothing planed for college. To be honest college had not crossed my mind much. I would much prefer sketching or listening to music. I just wasn’t the school type and I absolutely hated sitting in class for 7 hours. Thank God it was over.

It was almost 11 pm but no one wanted to sleep. I suggested we go to the local pub down the street. The three of them gave me a struggle, but I finally convinced them into having a good time. When we got to the pub, it was full of people, all different ages. Colin and Taylor got us a table while Charlie and I got us some drinks. There were several drunk men in their early thirties crowding around the bar. Charlie seemed hesitant as I lead her threw the sea of men. I heard whistling and nasty comments as we made our way to the bar. The bar tender asked us what we wanted and we ordered. As we waited for our drinks, a big man with messy blond hair and blood shot eyes was approaching Charlie.

“Hello love.” he stuttered with a smile. “How would you like to come back to my flat tonight?” he asked as he wobbled closer to us. “No thanks…” she said nervously as she tried to keep her distance. He looked at her with bolting eyes, “I don’t take no for an answer.” He quickly made his way towards Charlie and put his hand on her small, yet firm shoulders. “Now I am going to ask you again,” he said. “Would you like to come with me?” Suddenly, Colin ripped the drunk man off of my friend and punched him twice in the face. Colin grabbed Charlie, Taylor and I as we all sprinted out the door.

When we woke up in the morning, Charlie was a little mad at me for forcing her to go to the pub, but I knew she would forgive me soon. She always did. I was exhausted from our long day of traveling and pub fights and was not in the mood to do much. Taylor on the other hand, had a whole day of sightseeing and shopping planned for us. First on the list? Visiting Big Ben.
