[Name]'s POV

"Who is Roman?" Elena asks while I turn the crank, opening a gate.

"Gabriel Roman is the treasure hunter that killed Sully. He's also after the treasure of El Dorado," Nate explains to her while we walk through the gate.

"This was a big mistake," Nate says while looking around at the ruins.

"Well sorry. It was either this or take a shotgun blow to the head," I mutter while walking over to a jet-ski in a river.

"C'mere a second, you two. I want to show you something," Elena takes a seat on a rock and waves us over.

"The camera," my eye twitches and she opens it and starts a video.

"See this building in the harbor? That's where all the boats coming into the colony would have unloaded their cargo. So if the El Dorado treasure came to this island, it would've had to've come through here," she says and I look at her.

"Rewind the video," I tell her and she does until it reaches a certain spot. "Pause it," I tell her and she does. I point at a boat that's still floating in the harbor.

"That's our ticket out of here. Good job, [Name]," Nate pulls me against his side and pats my arm.

"Are you giving up?" Elena asks and I narrow my eyes at Nate, agreeing with what my best friend asked.

"If you haven't noticed we're kind of outnumbered here," he responds and I cross my arms while standing up.

"Do I need to remind you of that mission I did when I was younger?" I ask him and his eyes widen. "That run set me for life. Plus, we've been handling ourselves pretty well so far. Sure, numbers can turn you off, but these guys have no skill. They can barely shoot a gun."

"I don't want yours or Elena's bullet-riddled bodies on my conscious, [Name]," he tells me and I back up.

"So you're giving up? I understand that the treasure may not be worth losing our lives over, but I feel you owe it to Sully. We all do. He died, and we should try to finish this for him," I say and he stands up. "And it's not like I can't handle myself. Elena even proved she can. Let's just give it one shot, Nathan."

"[Name], it's too dangerous. We're up against Roman's militia and Eddy's."

"Fine. Though we still need to get down to the harbor for a boat," I mutter while looking up at my brunet friend.

Nate stares down at me fiercely and I meet his gaze with the same fervor. "I'm driving," he states, eventually looking away from me, and jutting his thumb in the direction of the jet-ski beside us.

"There is a problem though..." Elena trails off and I look at her. "There's only one jet-ski," she points out and I approach the watercraft to find a kneeboard on it.

"Nate, you drive. Elena, you'll sit behind him. I'll ride the kneeboard," I say while hooking it up to the jet ski.

"Do you know how to ride one?" Nate asks and I shrug.

"I have a pretty good idea." He deadpans and gets on the jet-ski, Elena crawling on behind him while I jump into the water. Nate starts the watercraft and I hold onto the board as he starts to speed away. "Now to just get my knees under the strap," I mutter and grip the board while pulling my knees up to my chest, securely under the strap.

"I'm glad that I don't have to hold onto the actual cord!" I shout out to my friend while I'm pulled through the water.

"How are you holding up back there?" Elena asks and I send her a thumbs up.
