The next day I woke to the sound of yelling. Assuming it was just Elena yelling at Jeremy again, I shut my eyes and tried to get back to sleep. Except the next yell I heard didn't belong to Jeremy at all, no, it was too deep and masculine and just wasn't right.

Hesitantly I got out of bed and jammed my feet into my maroon uggs and pulled on a black cardie. Padding to my door I opened it and was hit with a blast of air conditioning, pulling my cardie tighter around my body, I stepped out into the hall and heading in the direction of Elenas room.

"What were you thinking letting her come back here?!" the weird masculine voice exclaimed just as I put my hand on the door handle.

"I was thinking that this is her ho-" Elenas voice cut off as I opened the door and stepped into her room. "Hey, Lex what's up?"

"Whats with all the yelling? And who's this dude?" I asked calmly while gesturing toward the blue eyed man standing in the far corner of the room.

"Lex, this is Damon, he's-"Elena was once again cut off but this time by 'Damon'. "I'm a friend of your sisters"

The whole time he was talking to me he had a smirk on his face, but what got me was when he finished his sentence and made eye contact with me, I got a bad case of the shivers, a sign that this 'Damon' was a sucker for blood. Deciding to see if my theories were correct, I played with him a bit.

"Let me guess, you're a sucker for blood too?" at this both Damon and Elenas eyes went wide with shock and panic, a sure sign he was in fact one of Them. "Blood oranges that is, jeez no need to look at me like I just told you I ate all your peanut butter, that would be tragic. For you. I mean I would get the peanut butter so-" at this point Damon was standing in front of me and staring intently into my eyes, "you will go down stairs and make breakfast for you and Jeremy, then you will take him shopping for the day. Oh and I'm a sucker for blood oranges too, do you understand?" he spoke to me in a hypnotic voice though I was not fooled, my time in Denver taught me a few things.

Looking at Damon with an arrogant smirk on my face I said, "you can't compel me Damon, I'm not so easily persuaded," and with that I turned and left Elenas room not wanting to be in the same room as him and also feeling that same feeling I had when I was in Denver.

Trotting down the stairs going to the kitchen I smelt the wonderful aroma of what could only be caffeine. "Oh Jenna, you truly do know the way to my heart," I exclaimed dramatically, placing a hand over my chest.

"Well at least I'm good for something" she joked back to me as I sipped on the coffee she had handed me and she went to the fridge and grabbed the bacon. We were in a comfortable silence for a while, Jenna moving around the kitchen making bacon and what-not, and me leaning against the bench sipping on my coffee. It wasn't until the bell rung jumbling me from my thoughts that the silence broke, "Lex, hon, could you get the door I need to watch the bacon?" Jenna turned and spoke to me, momentarily taking her eyes off the bacon. "yea sure Jenna"

I don't know who I was expecting to be at the door, but I certainly wasn't expecting what I found.

"Corylus?"
