A smile slowly tugged at the corners of my lips as the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and freshly baked pastries filled my nose.

A elderly women was behind the counter who took was taking order of the only other customer in the shop. As I waited for my turn to order, I couldn't help but feel a certain connection to the guy that stood in front of me. I couldn't see his face but from the back he looked familiar. His blonde-ish, brown hair just had a certain... glow... to it. He wore a black hoodie that had 'Savage' written at the back of it, matched with designer jeans, and a pair of black vans.

I couldn't stop myself from looking him up and down. When he ordered and moved aside, I looked away quickly, not wanting to get caught. He turned around, finally noticing that I was behind him and it felt as if I forgot how to breath.

Ivan Martinez, my crush since senior year.

Ivan studied my face, almost as if he were trying to connect the pieces together.

"Miss," I heard a gently voice say. I quickly turned my gaze to the elderly women smiling at me, before walking towards the counter. "What can I get you?"

"Can I get a Salted Caramel Mocha please?"

"Sure thing dearie," she said as she wrote my order out on my cup. She quickly disappears through an employees only door, leaving me alone with Ivan.

I started to awkwardly shift from foot to foot, my nerves were getting the best of me.

"Y/n?" I heard the familiar voice of Ivan say. He said it so softly that if I hadn't been listening I wouldn't have heard it.

Slowly, I lifted my gaze to Ivan who was in complete shock. I offered him a shy smile.

"Hi," I sent him a small wave before placing my hand on my forearm.

A huge grin broke out on Ivan's face as he pulled me into a tight bear hug. Hesitantly, I wrapped my arms around his torso and leaned my head against his shoulder. Slowly, I inhaled his scent that I've grown to miss over the years we've grown apart. Seeing him again was like a breathe of fresh air.

"How have you been?" Ivan mumbled into my hair as he stroked it.

"Meh... I'm been okay," I laughed slightly. "How've you been, Mr Big Shot YouTuber?"

Ivan chuckled softly before pulling away slightly, I wasn't too sad because his arms still remained around me.

"It's been fun, I've learnt a lot of new things and as you can see my english has improved," Ivan said proudly and I found it hard not to admire him. His put so much hard work and effort into improving his english.

"You always were a fast learner."

Ivan was about to speak but the elderly lady beat him to it.

"One green tea," the elderly lady smiled as she placed Ivan's order down on the counter. "And one Salted Caramel Mocha."

Ivan and I paid separately for our drinks and I was beginning to make my way to the door but Ivan called my name.

"Don't leave so soon," he begged. His blue eyes starring at me with so much intensity that I gave in immediately.

I nodded and allowed him to guide me to one of the booths.

We sat down from across each other, Ivan sipped on his tea while I slurped my drink.

"So... why are you out so early?" Ivan asked me. I placed my cup down in front of me and glanced at him.

"Couldn't sleep, I'm writing my fails today and I didn't managed to absorb anything," I sighed tiredly as I rubbed my eyes. My body felt tired but my mind was awake.

"Y/n, you always panicked about exams at school yet you always got top marks. I believe in you."

I smiled weakly at him before asking, "So what's your excuse for being up at..." I looked down at my watch. "3 am in the morning?"

"Jake and the rest of the Team 10 members were making a YouTube of them playing with a Ouija board and afterwards I felt too frightened to stay in that house, so I decided to kill some time here at Starbucks. I'm happy I did," he explained.

I couldn't help but smile at Ivan's last sentence. He was happy to see me? I felt as if I wanted to squeal like a preschool girl but I kept my composure and held myself together.

"What exactly are you studying for? You know... at university?" Ivan asked as he tried to make conversation with me.

"Oh, I'm going into psychology. I plan on becoming a psychiatrist," I told him but I could see that Ivan was getting confused by the word 'psychiatrist' because I forgot that he's still learning english and doesn't know such big words yet.

"Psiquiatra," I said in Spanish so that he could understand what 'psychiatrist' means.

Ivan smiled, "I see you still remember some of the Spanish words I taught you from when we were still in high school."

"They became very useful, thank you."

Ivan and I fell into an awkward silence. I felt uncomfortable and I wasn't really myself when I was around him. He always had an effect on me that I just couldn't shake.

"I wonder how we managed to loose contact? I mean, we were so close in high school I just... don't know what went wrong," Ivan said softly, his eyes clouded with an emotion that I couldn't figure out. "Do you know how many times I tried calling you but you never answered."

I tightened my grip around my cup and pinched my eyes closed before opening them slowly, "Ivan... I don't know what happened between us either but I'm sorry I never tried harder to keep in contact with you too. And the reason why I never answered your calls was because I lost my cellphone. A year later I found it again and when I tried calling you the call wouldn't go through."

"That's because I got a new number," Ivan said simply. "Y/n... d-do you think we can try again? As friends..." Ivan placed his hand on top of mine and caressed my knuckles with his thumb. "And then maybe something more?"

My eyes widened when I realized what he was saying.

"Ivan? Are you saying what I think your saying?" I asked as I nervously chewed on my lip.

"Yes Y/n," He smiled brightly. "It's your decision."

I looked up at Ivan and said, "I'd love too."

"Great," Ivan began to move closer to me. He was eventually sitting right next to me. He leaned in slowly and butterflies exploded inside my stomach. My cheeks began to heat up as Ivan's lips were merely inches away from mine. All I had to do was lean in a little more.

Just as our lips brushed a loud voice from in front of us said, "Ivan's got game!"

And this voice belonged to the one and only Jake Paul.

My face turned a deep shade of red as I buried my face into the crook of Ivan's neck.

"Really? You guys couldn't wait 5 or 10 more minutes," irritation was clear in his voice as he wrapped his arm around me and kissed my forehead.

My mother always said Ivan was a keeper.
