"At this pace we'll reach Chicago in about..." I looked down at my wrist and sigh dramatically before saying, "Next year!"

As Emilio's black duffel bag fell out of the trunk once more he shot back, "Well maybe if you helped, we'll get there sooner."

"Just move," I rolled my eyes as I gently shoved Emilio aside and threw his duffel bag on the ground.

Taking my suitcase and duffel bag, I rearranged some of the bags and cases before placing Emilio's on top. I looked over my shoulder and beamed when it fit perfectly.

"Oh shut up," Emilio grumbles before shutting the trunk, causing my smirk to grow even more.

When we got inside the car I immediately plugged my phone in the charger which would allowed my songs to play through the speakers.

As I went through my playlist, Emilio reversed out of the drive way and was making his way out of the area that we lived in.

I turned my head to him and asked, "What are you in the mood to listen to, love?"

With a shrug Emilio answered, "It's 06:30 in the morning so nothing too loud. Something easy... if you know what I mean?"

"I catch your drift."

"What?" Emilio turned his head towards me and furrowed his brows.

"It's a saying that I created. It means I understand you."

"Why couldn't you just say that?"

"Because it sounds much better."

Turning his head back to the empty road, he said, "Why are you so weird?"

I shrugged and continued to scroll through my playlist, searching for something easy going for the morning. A soft squeal escaped my mouth when one of mine and Emilio's favorite songs popped up. Without a second thought I pressed play.

When the beat started Emilio's face lit up and a smile spread across his face.

You and me both.

When the lyrics started both, Emilio and I, started singing along, "Sorry if it's hard to catch my vibe, I need a lover to trust tell me you're on my side. Are you done for the ride?"

We both sang along at the top of our lungs when the chorus started, "Tell me where you love lies..."

Butterflies exploded in the pit of my stomach when Emilio put his hand in mine, intertwining our fingers. I stopped singing as he carried on, his gaze never leaving the road.

I took a moment just to appreciate him. I loved the way he didn't bother fixing his bed hair this morning or the way his eyes sparkled with happiness. There was nothing but pure admiration and love in my eyes as I studied his face. Everything about him I loved. He laughed at my jokes, even if I got the punchline wrong. He accepts me for who I am and overlooks my bad habits and flaws.

This was the guy I loved. This was the guy I want to spend the rest of my life with, as cliché as it sounds but I really do.

"Emilio?"

"Yes?"

"I love you," I blurt out.

His smile widened, "I love you too."

We smiled at each other like two love struck teenagers, this moment was absolutely perfect. I leaned in to give him a kiss on the cheek when...

"My neck, my back. Lick my-" I yelled when I heard the song playing. With quick fingers, I removed my phone from the cord before the song could play further.

Way to ruin the moment.

My face glowed bright red with embarrassment and shame as Emilio let out a full belly laugh.

"W-why... why would you have t-that song?" Emilio managed to say through his laughter.

I wanted to world to just swallow me whole. I could tell this way going to be a long road trip filled with Emilio teasing me about my song choices.

Hey guys,

It's me again... (internally groans) 😂 so I know that I've been scarce lately but like ALOT of shit has happened over the past what... like 2 months?? I don't know but I don't want to get into detail with all of that.

I know my writing is so shitty but I've been out of school for 2 months dealing with certain things and I haven't really done any school work so I've kind of fallen behind and I'm not sure if its possible to forget how to write proper English but I kind of forgot. 🤣

Anyways I hope you guys enjoyed this short and shitty chapter.
