Chapter 11
Discussion
Mike and I were still out on the balcony when midnight came around. I finished telling him every secret I was supposed to keep from the world was out in the open. We did mind reading tests, fire tests too.
"I've always known there was something different about you." Mike said cutely
"Oh, yeah. In a good way or a bad way?" I replied flirtatiously.
"Hmm, good definitely good." he answered playfully
I giggled softly and pulled myself towards him for a hug. He returned the gesture and kept his arms around me. I tilted my head up and stared into his hazel eyes for a long while the moment was so private. It would give anyone the urge to look but the gaze was to powerful to be penetrated.
A howl eventually broke the gaze. I looked up at the moon for the time it was about three in the morning. Just to think in four hours I'll have to be up again. Ugh. I took hold of Mike's hand and said, "Hold on, tight!" Off we went into the black sky in the direction of Mike's quaint little home
Chapter 12
The First Day
Four short hours later, I woke up and was ready fairly quickly. I packed my bag for school and stuffed it full of what I wanted in my locker, of course it was heavy. I walked out my bedroom balcony door and shot into flight. The morning sky was beautiful. Bright blue and full of white puffy clouds.
Mike and I agreed that I would meet him at his house in the morning and we would fly to school, together. We would land off into the woods about two blocks away from school to make sure no one saw us in the sky.
I landed in front of his front door. When my hand was perched up to knock on his shiny white door the door opened quickly and Mike was about to run out the door and smack into me when he looked up and saw me standing there. Instead he slowly strode out the door and placed my hand in his gently.
I looked up into his eyes and we seemed to hold that pose for a long while. I slid my arms around his waist and to his back pulling him close. I gave him a long hello kiss.
I was the one to break it off when I realized we were going to be late if we didn't hurry. So, I grabbed his hand and said, "On three we'll jump, okay."
He nodded.
"One...Two...Three." I said with one bounding leap into the air.
We soared in the treetops, weaving in and out, up and down over the branches. Once in a while one would end up hitting me in the face. Ow, do those hurt. Since Mike was with me I would suck it up and not say much about it.
When we landed it wasn't very graceful. I actually ended up falling onto the soft green grass behind a thick giant hedge. When Mike fell he landed on top of me. I think he thought it hurt me but, really I guess he doesn't weigh much because I barely felt a thing.
He must have thought he was hurting me or something because as soon as he realized where he was he immediately balanced himself on his hands. He was about to pull himself up when I wrapped my legs around him and pulled him back down into me.
He looked a bit surprised and confused but, I could tell that he liked it. I wrapped my arms around his neck. His lips touched my lips, light as a feather once, twice, three times. They were nice but I knew he was holding back. I started kissing him long and heard, with all my heart. Soon he dove right in to the kiss. I was the one to finally pull away. My eyes meet his and I said, "Two minutes until the final bell. Come on." He lifted himself off me and reached for my hand to pull me up, which I gracefully took.
We headed out from behind the shrubs and started walking toward the building. He put his arm over my shoulder and I put mine around his waist. We walked up the last set of step leading to the white front door of the huge redbrick building.
When we got to the administrative office we spoke to the woman at the desk and she gave him a piece of paper listing his locker combination and his class schedule. We had lockers in the same area and 5 out of the 8 classes together.
