Chapter Four

As Charlie and I talk about his adventures from his travels, I can't help but keep on looking at the mysterious man which is seated at the end of the bar. I casually glace across from time to time and I think he sometimes notices me. The drinks keep coming in and Charlie decides to go out for a fag.

"See you in abit" He says.

"Okay" I reply with a disgust tone in my voice. I hate smoking.

Now I'm left with the barman and the mysterious man. once again I look down the bar to view the man and this time he looks at me. Directly at me... shit! I think to my self in embarrassment. Do I say something?do I give him a smile? As I turn away quickly, the corner of eye sees him with a childish grin on his face. And what a beautiful grin it is.

Charlie returns and I decide I needed the loo, so off I went to the bathroom. However on my way there, my butter fingers slip and I drop my hand bag. Great... I think to my self. Gathering my belonging off the floor into my bag, two hands start to collect my things and help me. I look up and I see the mysterious man eyes connect to mine. As we gaze at each other, we both continue to help me with my stuff. I stand up all of a sudden, still fiddling with my bag.

" thanks" I say in a shy way.

He looks at me in a humorous way.

"Its okay. In my book its always good to help a beautiful lady if she needs it" He says in a low soft tone.

My cheeks start to go rose pink as I look down at the floor.

"I should go, I have a friend waiting" I say kindly.

"Okay well it was very nice helping you. we should do this again sometime?" he replies with a twinkle in his eye and a kink in his mouth.

with a rush of confidence I reply with strength.

"Well I'm free later, if you wanna help?" what am I doing, this isn't like me... I say this in such happiness and humour wandering what's going to happen next.

his face reacts in a slight delight.

"Yes...what time?" he says.

"In about an hour or so...?" I say in hesitation.

"that would be great..." he says whilst with his constant cheeky grin.

I slowly fiddle with my things and begin to realise I have Charlie still waiting at the bar.

" I should go" I say with concern in my voice.

"Well, til later then" he says.

As we both turn and walk in opposite directions, I try to figuring out what I've got my self into. However a sudden thought comes to mind and I loudly speak.

"Oh, by the way my names Victoria" and in a slow movement his head turns to the side. His jaw is so carefully crystal cut, he could slice open an object. Like a knife to an apple. His eye was glancing down at the floor in appeared amusement and wonder. A corner grin emerges from him and with a deep, gentle and yet mischievous tone one word is parted from his tender lips.

"Damien"...
