Chapter Five

Time passes by at a very slow pace.I listen to what Charlie has done in the past few months and what beautiful things he's witnessed, but as my elbow is placed on the table, with my chin in my palm. I'm very bored. Constantly looking at my vintage watch and nervously waiting for the hour to pass. I gaze at the old family photo on the pub wall. such a lovely bunch, the Evans'.A sweet couple with two young boys. The exhaustion made by the boys must be a handful for Claire and Richard. They're two beautiful twins with brass brown eyes and chocolate hair. Claire and Richard have had this pub for over 4 years now and thinking of leaving as they now have kids, which makes me sad to think because I've been coming to this place since I was a young child with my dad. He always took me to places. Near as the local pub to the coasts of England. We loved traveling together, especially to little countryside towns.

Still roaming around the bar walls looking at celebratory photos, someone's trying to get my attention. Charlie of course.

"Vic? I gotta go, my parents want to see as they go on a cruise tomorrow evening. You'll be okay right?"

Still unsure what's happening I then snap back to what he mouthed to me.

"Yes...sure, that's fine I might head off anyway. No one else is probably going to do the washing up... As I say this, I no I shouldn't be lying to one of my closest friends, but his gossip spreads faster than a wildfire and everyone I know would know under twenty-four hours. He cocks his head to the left and gives me a cheeky charlie wink and gives me a endless hug. As bones start to crush, I realise I'll be seeing him in a few minutes, possibly seconds. Ohgod!

My heartbeat gets quicker and my stomach creates butterflies. He releases me and waves good bye whilst existing the main pub doors. As quickly as possible I casually search the room for Damien. Where is he?has he left? I start to worry more and think I've been stood up. I then see my regular bar tender Terry.

"Hey Terry, have you seen a man in a navy suit leave or?" As I ask this, he pauses and puts his elbows on the bar to make himself seem to be in full concentration.

"Hey...I do believe I did see a man of that description go to the bathroom a few minutes ago, why?" My heart started racing again and a feeling of happiness was see landing through my body.

"No reason..." I say and make my way to a corner seating area, which has thin glass colour walls beside it making a booth. I freshen up with a bit of powder on my nose and lippy. I then wait.

Okay, don't be nervous! One step at a time. Its not even a date! I relax and see him returning to the bar. Wow.

I take in a breath and scan his profile with my eyes. He has fudge colour brown hair and jaw to die for. A large build-he must work out- and fairly tall. He looks around the room to find me. A half smile is made, walking towards the table I was at.

"Hello again" he informs.

I blush as I do all the time and realised it was my turn to talk.

"H-Hello" pull yourself together women! He sits beside me, not to close but far enough.

"What would this lady like to drink?" He says. Still half smiling. I like that smile.

"This lady will have a of Rosa" he looks at me in a way which I can't put my finger on. Standing up and heads to the bar, I check my phone.
