I'm guessing everyone has come off of the New Year's hype for the year! Anyway, since I'm still on break for a few days, I decided I would like to try to binge write and edit a few more chapters of the book. This does not mean posting those chapters, though it would be optimal if the opportunity presents itself. However, it will definitely make posting chapters easier for me. I wanted to give you all something to enjoy right away in 2018, so here's a new chapter. This chapter is short (no, I didn't plan it that way), but I want to get it out there for you anyway. So, here you go. Enjoy!

Shimmer's POV:

"What?!" Chorused the group in shock.

"He's...He's your FATHER?!?!" Shrieked Lloyd hysterically.

"Yes." I sighed, hating the fact of the matter. "I didn't remember until the day I disappeared because I didn't get my memories back from the fall I had when I met you until I was changed back into a seventeen-year-old."

"Woah, woah, WOAH!" Yelled Jay, beginning to freak out. "That means...Morro not only murdered, he...he killed your mom. His own WIFE!" He had put the pieces together. I simply nodded at him with dull eyes in return as confirmation.

"That explains how he knew what you could do." Commented Zane, adding his input to the conversation.

I decided it was time to change the subject. I didn't like dwelling on the past; it was too much of a nightmare and I'd like to keep it that way: just a nightmare, nothing more, nothing less. I piped up in an effort to change the subject, "So, what happened while I was gone? What was up with that poor, half-destroyed town?"

The group looked at each other before wordlessly electing Cole to speak. "It...it was...Morro. We fought him in various places throughout Ninjago, but it was no use..." He said, hanging his head in shame.

Lloyd looked at Cole sadly before finishing his unfinished thought. "Morro has managed to take complete control of Ninjago. He found another way to take over without you; however, it took him longer to do so without you." A heavy silence fell over us all before it was broken by Lloyd. "We're really sorry Shim. We tried."

"I know, Lloyd. I know." I replied, looking directly into his eyes. "I know you must have tried very hard, but I also know that the hero doesn't always win every battle. I get it."

Silence ensued after that. We all slowly split ways and did our own things. I, for one, resettled into my room with Lloyd's help, seeing as I basically had a grieving hermit living in my room for six moths.

After getting the room straightened up, I headed up to the bridge where i was sure I'd find Nya and Jay working to fix the Bounty.

"Hey guys." I greeted quietly, softly smiling and giving a little wave as I approached.

"Shimmer!" Yelped Nya, her eyes lighting up as she ran over to envelope me in a warm embrace. "It's really great to have you back." She whispered in my ear as she gave me a squeeze. We embraced a moment longer before releasing each other, upon which she moved back to her place beside Jay and began fixing again.

The pair ha messy hair; concentration emanated from both of them. Dust and grease marks covered them from head to toe. Nya even had a grease mark on her forehead. It was a fitting setting for the two. They were cute together.

'I totally ship it.' I thought to myself. What can I say? They'd make a great couple.

I decided to leave them be as their task required the utmost concentration. Bidding them farewell, I left to seek out Zane. I needed detailed answers, and Zane was just the guy to give them to me.

I found him on the main deck looking out over the poor, little, nearly-destroyed town below us.

"Hey, Zane." I greeted as I leaned against the railing beside where he was standing.

"Oh, hello, Shimmer." He returned.

"Zane, do you think you could give me a detailed rundown of all the things Morro has done...I need to know. Please?" I begged.

He looked me in the eye before proceeding to inform me of all the atrocities my father had committed while I was gone. That was where I stayed until evening came, listening to Zane speak of what happened and how Morro had managed to take over Ninjago in my absence; granted, he had more difficulty and it took more time for him to accomplish this without me.
