seokjin had, thankfully, arrived shortly after reading taehyung's message in his mom's car. he looked pissed off, but taehyung couldn't blame himㅡthe boy was almost eighteen, had his driver's license for two years, yet still didn't have his own car and had to ask his mom to drive anywhere.
"get in, loser, we're going shopping."
taehyung smiled while getting in the passenger seat. "i thought you said mean girls annoyed you because you've seen it so many times."
"doesn't mean i can't reference it!" seokjin responded. once taehyung was buckled, he pulled out of the driveway. "even if doing so hurts me emotionally."
"ah," taehyung said. he stared out the window, eyes flitting through the warm, pink colors of the evening. they reminded him of strawberries and créme. he allowed the faint sunlight to bathe him warmth. that feeling wouldn't last for long, he knew. "so, what is it that you wanted to talk to me about?"
"you'll see when we get to my place. i don't like talking and driving anymore because i realized it distracts me so please, don't ask another question, because i'll just ignore you and that will make me feel bad."
though his feelings for seokjin were anything but romantic, he couldn't deny that the lighting of outside drifting through the windows made the brunet ten times more beautiful. his hair looked fluffy, almost like a pillow, and taehyung wanted nothing more than to poke his cheeks before falling asleep on the cloud-like material of seokjin's shirt. if taehyung were to be completely honest, out of the three friends he had, seokjin was the best at comforting and always being there for the others.
as taehyung analyzed seokjin, he began to tilt his head as a unasked question entered his mind. "why has nobody tried to date seokjin before?"
he decided to let his temptations get the better of him and, before he knew it, his hand was delicately running along the side of seokjin's face. the brunet looked confused, but didn't argue against it. instead, he (almost) leaned into the touch, sighing softly. taehyung giggled and took this opportunity to let his finger gently poke the brunet's cheek. the latter started, hands holdinh tightly onto the wheel with a white-knuckled.
"taehyung!" seokjin raised his voice, but only a little bit. "you scared the shit out of me. please don't do that when i'm driving."
"sorry, jinnie."

as they pulled into seokjin's driveway, taehyung focused his attention on the one light coming from the house. it was very dim, coming from the first floor, and inside was a small couch with jin's mother and father fast asleep on the couch. he chuckled to himself as he unbuckled the seatbelt. "your parents are asleep."
"i knew they would be." seokjin shrugged. "now, stop stalking my parents and let's go inside."
it wasn't very often that anyone went to seokjin's house, as his house was the farthest away from almost all civilization, but each time was more memorable than the last time. the blond giggled as they approached the door, remembering the last time he had been to seokjin's house.
it had been four years ago, the summer before seokjin started high school. his mother decided to throw a party for all of seokjin's friends and family members (which at the time she didn't realize taehyung was his only friend, seeing as jimin didn't understand how people in different grades could be friendsㅡit was embarassing when taehyung brought jimin along anyway). at this time, jeongguk and taehyung were in the last stage of their prank war, and jeongguk seemed to think it would be appropriate to prank taehyung in the midst of seokjin's party.
that had terribly backfired. poor seokjin ended up crying and clutching onto both jimin and taehyung's hands while his mother and cousin and aunt plucked what seemed to be a billion faux feathers off of the honey-covered boy. it didn't help that honey had been boiling hot and left seokjin with raw,red skin. jeongguk felt guilty, but never apologized. nobody went to seokjin's after that.
