Phil's Pov
I wake up cold and cramped on the bathroom floor. Its 2am and my head is aching. Slowly I get up, my body is so sore. I rub my aching head and look into the mirror. My eyes are red and surrounded by dark circles. My lips are chapped and faded (OH MY GOD I'M TRASH). I walk out of the bathroom and into my 'bedroom' I don't technically live there but I'd rather crash here than at my foster family's house. I grab my phone, keys and my jacket then quietly sneak out of Sam's place. I walk out slowly and pick up my pace to a jog. I jog for a while until I reach the park. The dim moonlight shines on the lake that's surrounded by trees. I hear someone crying. I hesitate for a while but start to walk toward the crying. It almost sounds familiar. I walk over to the bench by the lampost. Where the crying person is sitting. Their figure is engulfed by a hooded jacket. "Hello?" I say stopping. "Go away" the voice mumbles behind sniffs and cries. "Dan?". The figure goes silent and I walk over to him. "I know it's you Dan," he pulls his knees up to his chest and stays quiet. He puts his head down and mumbles something. "What was that?" "Nothing" he says. "Can't hear you" I tease and elbow him. "Nothing" he says louder and clearer. "Better" I say smiling. He laughs softly. "Why were you crying?" I say looking at him. "Sorry stupid question" I say after he doesn't answer. "I'm really sorry Dan, I'm sorry I didn't stick up for you" I say with my eyes watering. "I'm really fucking sorry" I can see tears pouring out of his eyes. "You shouldn't be sorry it's not your fault I'm fucked up" he says harshly. "I don't think you're fucked up" I say staring at the lake. "Thanks but you're the only one" I look at him and try to stop myself but I put my hand down onto his. He flinches but settles after a second. We sit there in silence for a while until the sun starts to come up. "Well, I should go, you know for school and everything" I say standing up. "Phil it's Saturday" he laughs. "Oh ha yeah" I say sitting back down. We talk for most of the day. It made me happy to see him smile.
